non-derivative based optimization and standard errors.
Hi AlL, I ahve this problem that my objective function is discontinous in the paramaters and I need to use methods such as nelder-mead to get around this. My question is: How do i compute standard errors to a problem that does not have a gradient? Any literature on this is greatly appreciated. Jean,

Rsync - does it really do an *exact* copy?
Hi Rsync-ers I'm simply using rsync to do an exact copy of my root (and home) partition by using the -aHv options. When the copy is complete, I modify fstab so my root and home mount points are pointing to the newly copied partitions. When I boot (into the new partitions), init and all the services start okay; however, when I get to "mgetty" and it passes control to "login" I get...

But I cannot get them to autoprovision. I have tried dhcp option 66=ipaddres. 66=FTP://PlcmSpIp:PlcmSpIp at 192.168.1.1/ u ahve also tried options 129, 150, 160, etc. I realise that this is not an asterisk issue. But does anyone have any experience on this (particularly using sonicwall routers for Dhcp)?

Running R in Ubuntu...really basic..sorry
...able to download and install the LearnBayes package. My biggest problem right now is that I don't know how to run R except as a local-directory command in the Terminal. Certain R commands cause the terminal to go into some changed state and not take any more commands. Right now for example I ahve a last line that is darkened in over (END) and it's sitting there. Any advice? Oh, if you suspect something in your sources.list (specific to Dell) email ma and I'll explain. Thanks. Room533

Installing vp31vfw.dll - how?
Hello, We put the DirectShow filters on hold till the release of our software (next week) and will integrate it into the first patch. Till then, our customers will ahve to live with a VP31 vfw hack. Can anyone post a list of complete registry keys that I need to push? My main prob,em is - I also downloaded the sources,...

And I want to store the results in a table like. p result 10 ------ 20 ------ Is there any easy way to do this. I was trying for(p<-10*1:50){integrate(Func, lower = 0, upper = 182)}, but some problem couldn't do it....
