Finding Lambda in Poisson distribution
Hi,
I have a dataset. First of all, I know that my dataset shall follow the
Poission distribution. Now I have two questions:
1) How can I check that my data follow the Poisson distribution?
2) How can I calculate Lambda of my data?
Regards
Saeed

Syntax in taking log to transfrom the data to fit Gaussian distribution
Hi,
I have a data set (weight) that does not follow the Gaussian (Normal)
distribution. However, I have to transform the data before applying the
Gaussian distribution. I used this syntax and used log(weight) as:
posJy.model<-glm(log(weight) ~ factor(pos),
family=gaussian(link='identity'), subset=Soil=="Jy"). This syntax COULD NOT
transform the data. But if I transform the

Creating a private CRAN with webpages
I'm not trying to create a mirror of the CRAN. I also do not want to create
a "subset" of CRAN packages. Sorry if my explanation was confusing. There
are internal proprietary R packages that I would like to host on a private
repo. I like the CRAN web pages that allow a user to browse the various
packages from a browser without having to first install them. I want to

How to compare the effect of a variable across regression models?
Hello,
I would like, if it is possible, to compare the effect of a variable across
regression models. I have looked around but I haven't found anything. Maybe
someone could help? Here is the problem:
I am studying the effect of a variable (age) on an outcome (local recurrence:
lr). I have built 3 models:
- model 1: lr ~ age y = \beta_(a1).age
- model 2: lr ~ age + presentation
