Hi I would like to know if anyone has success in making 64-bit Windows Seven work with a Samba PDC without any problems? I have a Samba 3.5.6 server running on Debian Lenny. Samba works properly and is using the LDAP backend, which is integrated with Kerberos, GSSAPI, etc... Abount Windows Seven... I changed the registry as recommended Samba wiki, applied the hotfix to not give the DNS error after entering in the domain. The Winbind with IDMap are working too. ...and today i build an individual kernel based on the vanilla sources for 2.6.16 with the CK Patchset. Everything works fine, except wine. Everytime i start an application with wine or just winecfg it needs a long time to come up. Winecfg e.g. needs about 2 minutes (with the default Ubuntu kernel abount 10s). My configuration looks like this: fileserver: Samba 3.3 on FreeBSD 6.2 ----- gbit switch ----- workstation: Vista x64 When transfering files between the two PCs, I get abount 6.5 to 7 MB / sec. On my last Vista installation I got about 40 MB / sec. I'm in the process of setting up a Samba 4 PDC on Debian 8. I've set user passwords to expire after a day for testing purposes. When a user tries to log in when his password has already expired, he only gets a short "The user account has expired." message and then gets sent back to the username/password screen, effectively locking them out. Tested with Windows 10 and Windows 7.
