checking for _non-existing_ documentation entries.
Hi! I have renamed some functions and deleted others. I have noticed that R CMD check complains only about newly added functions, but documented non-anymore-existing functions seem not to matter. I knew about prompt and promptMethods promptClass. They are extremely useful if you are starting to write a package. But what with existing packages that have to be rewritten? Having code and

openssh-SNAP-20001207 scp "Bad file descriptor" sort-of work-around
Everything seems to work, though I still have trouble with scp. The behaviour is not protocol dependent - acts the same with either. (Using RedHat 6.2) When I scp <file> <host>:<dir>, bash is invoked as a login shell on the server side host - this doesn't seem right. With my /etc/profile, I get Dec 6 15:06:20 amethyst sshd[3027]: error: select: Bad file descriptor in

Wilcoxon signed rank test and its requirements
Hi all, I have a distribution, and take a sample of it. Then I compare that sample with the mean of the population like here in "Wilcoxon signed rank test with continuity correction": > wilcox.test(Sample,mu=mean(All), alt="two.sided") Wilcoxon signed rank test with continuity correction data: AlphaNoteOnsetDists V = 63855, p-value = 0.0002093 alternative hypothesis:

devd question
I'm trying to make devd run an stty command whenever a USB serial device is attached. Unfortunately, $device-name is ucom[0-9] and the device names are /dev/cuaU[0-9] - how do I get the correct name in the device action? I haven't found a way to extract the number by itself, so I'm stuck with specifying a separate rule for each number, like so: attach 100 { device-name

[Bug 1573] New: module revealed thru error msg even with "list = no"
...o@seas.upenn.edu "list = no" correctly hides via rsync _server_::, however if one tries rsync _server_::_existing-module_/ and does not have permission, one gets @ERROR: access denied to _user_ from _client_, whereas an attempt for a non-existent module emits @ERROR: Unknown module '_non-existent-module_' If "list = no" is used for security purposes (can't think of another reason at the moment), this can be considered a security bug and thus I left severity at normal instead of labeling it minor. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.samba.org/userprefs.cgi?ta...

ports binary upgrade question for 9.2
Due to trip to make, I will have to wait few days to upgrade my nodes to 9.2 release. But, I'd like to learn the easiest way to handle ports. Thanks to Matthew Seaman, I will try out txz repos, when I find the correct address for that. Otherwise, I assume portmaster might do the job equally well. Reading manual, I guess flags like -P -a or -PP -a are made to fit? Next to think would be to

...olution, I can also give the client options and say, "if you go with RHEL, you're going to run into the re-occuring problem of X, Y and Z." In most cases, it helps me eliminate Microsoft from client consideration early on, but in some cases, I actually end up rolling out a completely _non-Red Hat_ solution. > You might as well try to explain to me why upgrading or installing > certain MS products require moving the whole enterprise to Active > Directory first. FreeBSD tar errors on valid empty tar.gz
Seems our current libarchive? That support FreeBSD's tar implementation has a bug where it can create archives it cant read back. This can be seen by simply creating an empty tar.gz file and then trying to expand or list it. In doing the above you get the following error: tar: Unrecognized archive format: Inappropriate file type or format N.B. gtar can list and expand the created file

list corner case
I'm curious how people think the following *should* be interpreted: - one 2. two http://babelmark.bobtfish.net/?markdown=-++one%0D%0A2.+two%0D%0A%0D%0A As you can see, implementations split into three groups here: (a) treat as an unordered list Markdown.pl, Python markdown, MultiMarkdown, BlueCloth, MarkdownJ, Showdown (b) treat as an unordered list with an ordered

GELI partition mount on boot fails after 7.0 -> 7.1-PRERELEASE upgrade
I was using a GELI partition for /usr/home on 7.0, so it attaches and mounts on boot. The problem is it stopped working after the system was upgraded to RELENG_7/7.1-PRERELEASE. Here's how it goes: I have the following /etc/fstab: /dev/ad0s1b none swap sw 0 0 /dev/ad0s1a / ufs rw 1 1 /dev/ad0s1d

[HEADS UP] drm merged to -STABLE
I just merged drm (Direct Rendering) from HEAD. - Support for latest Intel chips - Support and fixes for many AMD/ATI chips r500 and below - Support AMD/ATI IGP based chips (rs690/rs485) - Lots of code cleanups - Lots of other fixes and changes since the existing drm is 2+ years old If you are experiencing a "garbled" screen with
