...t;no signal". Forcing kms video=DVI-D-1:e => DVI-D-1 on with 1024x786 Forcing kms video=DVI-D-1:1600x1200e => DVI-D-1 on 1600x1200 but my monitor has 1920x1200 native resolution Forcing kms video=DVI-D-1:1920x1200e => DVI-D-1 on picture is 1920x1200 but monitor reports 960x1200 and picture is pixelated I'm on Ubuntu 18.04, Device is a HP Elitebook8730w with docking station and DVI-D output. As I saw, with the help of Ilia Mirkin from your team, there is no EDID data reported in Xorg.log at DVI-D-1 (equal if forced kms or default boot) There is a message "mxm...

Strange monitor behavior on forced DVI-D output
.... The monitor is automatically reported as not connected. LVDS is detected. Forcing it on Xorg.conf didn't work, KMS does: video=DVI-D-1:1920x1200e video=LVDS-1:d X started with 1024x768, but could switch by xrandr to 1920x1200. The viewed picture now is 1920x1200 , but the Monitor runs on 960x1200, so that it looks very pixelated. (But there is no panning) Tried to add another (cvt calculated) modeline (1920x1200_60.00) with xrandr, but didnt help: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1200, maximum 8192 x 8192 LVDS-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) DVI-D-1 c...

Strange monitor behavior on forced DVI-D output
...ors enabled without forcing anything? 2.Why are there there no EDID-Information on DVI-D-1 (nvidia drivers detects the monitor, how do they the trick, if the Monitor should be buggy? 3.If there's no other way, and I have to force output and resolution, why does it work with 1600x1200, but has a 960x1200 Monitor resolution (to be seen in the monitors menu) while showing 1920x1200 picture? > Could be.
