[Bug 40747] New: The new nouveau kernel module fails to use my monitor's native resolution
...g ReportedBy: monnier at iro.umontreal.ca QAContact: xorg-team at lists.x.org Created an attachment (id=51019) --> (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=51019) Problematic boot with vanilla 3.0.4 Up until a while ago, the nouveau kernel module allowed me to move my 1600x1200 monitor from the VGA port to the DVI port of my card (before that I used the `nv' X driver which wasn't able to setup the DVI output with the needed resolution). So all was well. But starting a while ago (not sure when), the nouveau driver started to fail to use my monitor's native res...

NV43: Native resolution not available on Dell 2007FP
I have a Dell 2007FP monitor. NV43 (GeForce 6600) can not use the native resolution. 1600x1200 is listed under "DDC gathered Modelines" with the rest of the info, but then is missing from "probed modes". I have a secondary card, NV4a (GeForce 6200, PCI). It works with this card. This card does not show "DDC gathered modelines" at all, and 1600x1200 is listed...

Different Resolution in a Wine Window Possible?
I operate my openSuse 11.3/KDE desktop at 1600x1200 using ATI's CCC, but wish to run some Windows-based games in a Wine window at (say) 1024x764 while the main desktop remains the same (1600x1200). Is this possible? When I use windcfg and the virtual desktop setting, all it seems to do is change the SIZE of the wine window, but not the resolut...

[Bug 15161] New: Unable To Get Full Resolution (exceeds panel dimensions)
...ment (id=15379) --> (http://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=15379) Current xorg.conf, slightly tweaked with modelines and syncs for my monitor. Been using the proprietary nvidia drivers for years but not currently able to use these (running Fedora 9) so trying to get my full resolution (1600x1200) working with the nouveau driver, or even nv. (both yield this same problem) I have a Dell 2001fp LCD display and a nVidia GeForce 6200 video card. While 1600x1200 works easily with nvidia driver, using nouveau (or nv) I always max out at 1280x1024. The most suspicious entry on Xorg.0.log is: (I...

screen size and screen location
I am trying to find a way to control what size screen my wine app things it has. How is this done? Example my screen is 1600x1200 but I only want the wine app to think the max screen size is 1024x768. How do I do this? Also, Can I then control where the smaller window opens? Like at position 100,100 on the screen for example. THanks for any pointers to these two issues, Jerry

How do you set the refresh frequency for the X server?
During the kickstart installation of the CentOS 4.3 systems I recently built, anaconda probed for the video card (Intel 945) and monitor (NEC MultiSync 2070NX). The optimal setting for this monitor is 1600x1200 @ 60Hz. The X server is configured to use 1600x1200, but it is using a higher refresh rate, which causes the monitor to display an error message, and it also locks you out of the on-screen- menu. How do you translate a 60Hz refresh frequency into the appropriate horizontal sync and vertica...

[Bug 31058] New: Flickering area on external monitor [9400M]
...sts.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: felix.leimbach at gmx.net QAContact: xorg-team at lists.x.org On a MacBook 6,1 with linux 2.6.36 (64bit) I see two related problems on an external TFT display, connected via a displayport->DVI adapter: 1) With the TFT's native resolution of 1600x1200 the low area just flickers. The color of the flickering seems to be related to the background and other windows in that area. It's size also varies. I've filmed an instance with a relatively big size, see video [1]. 2) When I use 1280x1024 instead the screen looks fine except for a very sh...
