Disable SILK/CELT only?
...he codec and use CELT only? I could have sworn that there is something, but I can't seem to find it in the mailing list archives. The application here is that I am attempting to update from the old CELT codec to OPUS. Unfortunately, the CELT codec was running *very* close to the CPU (MIPS32--80MHz) limit (over, actually, occasionally a packet didn't have time to get encoded and the application treated it as a lost packet). SILK probably isn't in the cards. Now, I do know that *some* improvements have been made in performance, but I really can't count on that being good enough s...

Implementing Vorbis in hardware
Hello, I'm investigating the feasibility for implementing the Vorbis algorithms in hardware. Currently, MP3 has hardware bitstream decoders, and I'd like to determine how difficult a Vorbis hardware decoder would be. Does anyone know where I can find a detailed flow diagram of a Vorbis decoder? Also, I've downloaded the C files and I'm currently trying to understand them. Can

How to make opus work on a low end device ?
hi, I am porting opus encoder to a low end device with 32K ram, 256K flash and 32MHz arm M3 mcu. But opus seems consume too much. To make it work , what I can think of 1, Only fixed point supported 2, Only mono voice application supported 3, Set complexity to zero 4, Support only one sample rate, like 16KHz 5, Silk mode only or Celt mode only My question is , before

Speex for TI MSP430 microcontroller - estimating CPU speed requirements?
Interested in building a speex codec (basically audio <-> speex <-> data stream) using TI's small MSP430 microcontroller. Is there any way to estimate feasibility based on CPU requirements? Example - speex is happily encoding on an old Pentium-1 processor (166 MHz) using about half the CPU (as reported under Linux); the TI microcontrollers are much slower yet (8-16-25 MHz) and

Performance Samba 2.0.6 / FreeBSD 3.4 vs NT and NetWare
...er Erase 0:02 (consistent) Samba to Win98 (read) 1:40, 1:45, 1:50 Win98 to Samba (write) 2:00, 3:50, 3:50, Samba Erase 0:05 (consistent) The NetWare and NT Servers are consistent, and pretty much the same w/ NT slightly faster which is understandable given that NetWare is only running on an 80MHz 386 w/20Meg RAM. Samba however is consistently slower than both, and its "write" time is much slower, and quite inconsistent. I was hoping Samba/FreeBSD would be at least as fast as the NetWare box (which I'm considering replacing w/ the Samba Box), given that it's running on fas...

...> Currently decode takes 16~22 ms and encode is ~13 ms. What is the best > way to try to reduce this time? Also, unsure why encode is taking less > time than decode... Last month a user posted some benchmarks on a STM32F4, which is a the same core as your cc3220 but at 168MHz rather than 80Mhz. Here's the results: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/opus/attachments/20180114/a0340dfa/attachment-0012.png Based on that it seems that your decode should take about ~10ms, so it'll be a bit of a squeeze to get full duplex in. But your numbers are significantly worse. Are you running out...

Opus on MIPS performance
Hi All, First time poster to this group, please ignore my ignorance? I?m trying to use Opus 1.1 on a 400MHz MIPS 24k CPU (AR9331, specifically, like in the Arduino Yun). I?ve successfully built (I think) opus-1.1 and opus-tools-1.8 and they run, but are dog slow. opus-1.1 does have the ?enable-fixed-point option set, as this chip only has soft-float. My short test file (less than one

[EXTERNAL] Re: Developing OPUS on TI CC3220
Thanks Jean-Marc, I was able to get both encode and decode working the CC3220 device! But for bi-directional communication, I need decode and encode to occur in less time than the frame size I’m sending (20 ms). Currently decode takes 16~22 ms and encode is ~13 ms. What is the best way to try to reduce this time? Also, unsure why encode is taking less time than decode... I've also

cisco 3620 setup (newbie cisco alert)
I'm experimenting (using for the first time) with using a cisco3620 to connect to the PSTN via a channelised E1 interface, with * handling all of the SIP calls. If anyone has any installation tips / help / documentation I would be most appreciative :) However, my first question is this: when I am in the setup, I see the following: Current interface summary Controller Timeslots
