Hi,
I have high IO-Wait on the ods (ceph), the osd are running a v3.1-rc9

I also experience high IO-rates, around 500IO/s reported via iostat.

Bayesian functions for mle2 object
Hi everybody,
I'm interested in evaluating the effect of a continuous variable on the mean
and/or the variance of my response variable. I have built functions
expliciting these and used the 'mle2' function to estimate the coefficients,
as follows:
func.1 <- function(m=62.9, c0=8.84, c1=-1.6)
{
s <- c0+c1*(x)
-sum(dnorm(y, mean=m, sd=s,log=T))
}
m1 <- mle2(func.1,

[LLVMdev] [llvm-testresults] bwilson__llvm-gcc_PROD__i386 nightly tester results
Hi Bob, are these performance regressions real? They look pretty serious.
Ciao, Duncan.

Dear R users,
I have a dataset with two variables: $esan - a grouping factor with 8
levels and $reus. I'd like to do wilcox.test on this dataset as
sugested Weiwei here:
https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2007-July/136627.html. I tried
to adapt his recommendation but no succes. Can anyone help me?

[LLVMdev] [llvm-testresults] bwilson__llvm-gcc_PROD__i386 nightly tester results
Yes, they are real. I re-ran the two tests with the biggest execution time regressions, and the results were completely reproducible.

interpreter change from RW1.7 to RW1.8 reviewed at RW1.9
Dear r-developers,
on January 23rd I reported on this list a dramatic performance loss of R1.8
compared to previous versions. As I did not receive any answer for this
important observation, I try again with some more recent results.
The slowdown happens when manipulating parts of objects in other
environments. This severely impedes Henrik Bengtsons oo extensions and usage
of my package ref. It

means over factors in mlm terms
I'm trying to write a function to find the means over factors of the
responses in a mlm (something I would do easily in SAS with PROC SUMMARY).
The not-working stub of a function to do what I want is below,
and my problem is that I don't know how to call aggregate (or
some other function) in the context of terms in a linear model
extracted from a lm/mlm object.

[LLVMdev] Polyhedron 2005 results for dragonegg 3.3svn
Below are the results for the Polyhedron 2005 benchmarks compiled with llvm/compiler-rt/dragonegg 3.3svn at r182439 against current
FSF gcc 4.7.3svn and 4.8.1svn. The only major bug remaining in the dragonegg 3.3svn support for gcc 4.8.x is http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=15980
which results in unresolved symbols for _iround and _iroundf in the aermod and rnflow testcases. Note that this

[PATCH v10 18/19] pvqspinlock, x86: Enable PV qspinlock PV for KVM
This patch adds the necessary KVM specific code to allow KVM to
support the CPU halting and kicking operations needed by the queue
spinlock PV code.
Two KVM guests of 20 CPU cores (2 nodes) were created for performance
testing in one of the following three configurations:
1) Only 1 VM is active
2) Both VMs are active and they share the same 20 physical CPUs
(200% overcommit)
3) Both VMs are

Routes
hi all,
I want to move some routing tasks out of the router and into the
controller. The goal is to make Merb feel less like mod_rewrite and
give the user more control at the controller. The new Router is
simple: it takes the path_info (not the whole request) then outputs a
controller class and some parameters from the path matching. The rest
of the routing would be done at the controller level.
