Newbie 2 PBX VOIP, protocol ?'s using Cisco 827 7910
I am replacing a dead pbx with *. There are four lines I will be using.
There is a Cisco 827-4v already in place so I will move the lines from
the pbx to it.
I am working with Cisco 7910 phones and I understand they use the
Skinny/SCCP protocol. I am not sure if I should use chan_skinny or
chan_sccp?
However my main question is with communication. Do I need to use the
same protocol between the Cisco 827-4v and *, as I am using between *
and the 7910 phones?
I read through the pdf...

Asterisk Now Beta 6 and CISCO IP 7910
Dear All,
Thank you for taking the time to read my message. I have just installed
Asterisk Now, and it seems to be up and running with no issues on my system.
The problem I am facing, is that I cannot find anywhere in the web
interface, to assign phones. I have a CISCO IP phone 7910 series, and I wish
for this to connect to the asterisk box. What's the best way of going about
this?
Best regards,
Mr Gabriel Ogunleye

Installing Cisco IP phone 7910

Maybe someone can help me :) I have searched for more info from everywhere

* and Cisco 7910
I've looked on Google, but I get mixed results. I understand the 7910
does not support SIP, instead using SCCM, but does it work reliably with
Asterisk? Is there a specific firmware revision for the device that
makes it work?
If anyone has this phone working with Asterisk, I would be interested to
learn about the configuration.

Cisco 7910 Handsets: Skinny protocol?
Dear all.
I have about 30 Cisco 7910 handsets, and my basic research has told me that
they are not SIP based handsets. Not to worry for now, I just need them to
connect to my asterisk server. They are giving me a bit of a hard time. Has
anyone here had any experience on how to do this? Documentation on the
internet is seriously lackin...

Cisco 7910 compatibility
Hello,
I'm looking at getting some Cisco 7910G+SW phones through a local
liquidator.
Is anyone currently using these with asterisk?
Any special limitations with this one as compared to the 7940 and 7960's?
Will they work with SIP or are they stuck in Cisco-land with Call-Manager
only?
Thanks,

[Release] Skinny Support in cvs
...n_skinny code that has been out there, if you knew where to look. I
believe I now have all basic features operational and am going to be
working on getting the class 5 (hold, transfers, call waiting and
caller*id, etc) operational in the comming week(s).
I have personally tested this code on 7910 and 12SP+'s and will soon
dive into a 7960. There currently may be issues with 7920s and ATAs,
but with some proper debug information and/or the acutal device in my
grubby mitts I am sure I can get around any nuances.
If you have an issue with this code please use http://bugs.digium.com....

I have another question about the remote login. Is there a way to
login to a phone remotely? The way we are login to our PC with our own
account, I want to login to a desk phone(I have Cisco 7960 and Cisco
7910) with my own extension so that, when I am in a distant location
from my desk for a long time I could be able to get my phone with me.
Thank you,

Problem compiling chan_sccp
Hi,
I recently bought a 7910. I found out too late that it would not do
SIP as I initially thought. Anyway before ditchingit for a 7960 I
wanted to try it out, I read that the guys at
http://chan-sccp.sourceforge.net/ had done some improvements to the
original chan_sccp driver and having 80% functionality with this
model.

Stopping putgoing calls after working hours
Dear All,
I am trying to find a way to stop people who use phones after business
hours (a policy the company wants to implement), we have cisco 7940 and
7910 phones and sadly they don't have a phone lock password system (on
these ciscos it locks config menu changes but not the calls but the
cisco 7920 has this feauture).
So I was wondering is there a way to make this happen in asterisk??
