Integrated T1
Can an asterisk box equipped with a Digium T1 card handle Integrated T1 circuits? I have a T1 with 768k data and the remaining channels voice, can the asterisk box do the Data routing + Voice processing? It's only going to support 4-5 users(the voice channels won't all be active obviously). ________________________________ This e-mail, facsimile, or letter and any files or attachments trans...

Asterisk-1.0 RC1
...d it was time to go ahead and get the 1.0 ball rolling in earnest. ftp://ftp.digium.com/pub/asterisk Enjoy the code. Special thanks to all the bug marshals and contributers and to everyone who has supported Asterisk through the purchase of Digium hardware. I apologize in advance for our slow 768k link. Please report bugs at http://bugs.digium.com and *please* read the instructions there before submitting bugs or patches. I hope everyone can share in my excitement, especially as excited as I'll be once I've actually had some sleep. Mark

QoS & VPN
I've got multiple satellite office all linked back to the main office via VPN. Each office has their own asterisk server which registers back to the main office's Asterisk server. Each office also has a 1Mb downstream / 384k - 768k upstream connection. The branches are using Speex for their connections back to the main office. The issue I'm having is that there are times that I need to VNC in to machines at the various offices for tech support while the user is also on the phone. Unfortunately the VNC connection ap...

T1 Integrator Birch
I'm thinking about replacing my Birch T1 integrator with an Asterisk box. The Integrator has 12 voice & 768k data, so the Asterisk box would become a router & PBX. Has anyone done anything similar, what experiences have you seen &/or read about. TIA

Asterisk against 3 Com NBX 100 and Siemens HiPath 3700/3750
My new company is going to enter a bid competing with 3Com and Siemens solutions from others. Voice service is a PRI T-1 with a block of 100 DID numbers, a second T1 that will carry Integrated voice/data, 12 voice/768K for redundency. I asked this a week or two ago, now I have more details. Best/$ channel banks that work with Asterisk and Best deal on phones... 16 business, 34 basic IP phones, attendant console? Think we can beat 3Com and Siemens??? -- Mark Street, D.C. Interfacing to an IAD
I'm considering switching my incoming phones lines from standard analog to a T-1 service from XO communications. They propose to bring in an "IAD" which has 12 lines of voice and 768k of internet bandwidth as part of a package deal. Since I want to keep the voice traffic in the digital domain the equipment they're proposing is a "Lucent Digital Vina Integrator" IAD with a digital TC card. I've searched the web to find any sort of info on how I can connect t...

Channelbank Recomendation and GS102 question
Hi All. I'm working on an * configuration. We require 8 inbound POTS lines, and CT1 or PRI seems like it will be quite expensive at that level. I've read that a T1 Channelbank plus the T100P would be a (the?) way to go for this situation. What is the recommended channelbank for use in this scenario? From searching the archives I see a lot of suggestions to get "a

Channel Bank configuration
Hello, I don't have any experience with channel banks and would appreciate any feedback on my theory outlined below: We have a single T1 entering the building with channels 1-12 being voice lines and 13-24 being a 768k internet connection. This T1 terminates to an Adit 600 (T1-1). Here's what I know. Channels 11-12 go out the Adit 600's 25-pair connector to a wiring block (and eventually to 2 fax machines - I assume this is to have the fax machines bypass the currently installed phone switch). The da...

shaping fails when using p2p apps?
Hi there, We''re running a small ISP and all the users are shaped to 384/512/768k both ways (whichever package they choose). The router is a linux (debian sarge), the kernel is 2.4.25 right now. All users are getting 10.1.1.* ip addresses (eth1) and eth0 connects to the isp using ethernet (via a media converter, it''s fiber from there). They''re nat''s us...

call "load balancing"
Hello All, Wondering what sort of real world mileage people are getting out of different internet connecions - i.e. different DSL connection speeds, cable modems, etc... Is it reasonable to hope to carry 10 - 15 concurrent calls on a 768K DSL? I'm not talking about theoretical BW or looking for any difinitive absolute guarantee... With DSL and Cable - there is no guarantee, so I'm wondering what folks are getting with real world usage... Secondly, assuming I want to replace 8 - 10 POTS lines coming in with someone lik...

However, the first version of rw0651ch.zip was missing the index and full search facilities (a version problem in the help compiler) and Guido has put up a revised version (dated 10/10/99, size 768k) to which you might like to upgrade. -- Brian D. Looking for input on which way to go with smallbusiness setup
...isn't too expensive. Your users will hate using an analog phone for transferring and forwarding. If you decide to run analog phones, then you may as well get a multiport FXS to T1 device and then buy a 2x T1 card like the A102 from Sangoma, or the Digium equivalent. I would suggest that the 768k/s fractional T1 will cost you more then a 3Mb/512Kb DSL line, so go with the DSL if your SLA can live with the occasional outage. Ambisonics with Head Locked Stereo to Opus Channel Mapping Family 2 for WebVR Chrome App and YouTube
...g to encode 6 Channels as Opus to an .opus and .webm file. Until now, YouTube and Chrome Browser cannot playback the results correctly. VLC is not playing anything. Using this MOV container and PCM works. I am using the following ffmpeg command: ffmpeg -i ambix_6ch_withHLS.wav -c:a libopus -b:a 768k -mapping_family 2 -y ambix.opus The opusenc.exe binary does not mention a command line argument for channel mapping. In this mailing list archive, Emily Bowman mentioned 19 December 2019, that Ambisonics is an API-only feature. Is this still correct? Here's the specification: https://tools....

something between an ATA and a channel bank for a small office?
I have had very bad experiences with IAXYs so far.. I have pulled them and will be attempting a refund shortly. Bad audio, overheating and shutting down until allowed to cool, etc. make it unusable in a business environment. That said, is there a low-mid priced solution for a remote office to connect to a home office runing asterisk? There seems to be a hole in the market for 6-8 person

must cut the line down too much for shaping to work
Hi, my situation: One internet connection 256 kbps uplink/downlink, pretty stable speed, a Linux router with three NICs (one to ISP, one to DMZ and one with VLANs enabled to our LAN). Each of three VLANs (1, 10, 11) is a region for me; id 1 gets guaranteed 128 kbps, id 10 and 11 both get guaranteed 64 kbps (both uplink and downlink). Simple configuration. Traffic balancing by IP.
Hello all! As far as I know that the traffic that will pass thru the router is balanced so that all connections have the same privilegies. Is it possible to configure the linux based router so that all computers will have the same privilegies? I mean that if in default case full traffic is splitted by connections, so I need to split it by users to prevent one user occupy all traffic by starting

Provisioning CO lines
Hi all, This is a NEWBIE question, so all you experienced types that are tired of stupid questions can move on... I've pretty much given up trying to do my entire phone system over IP (including local service), so I have to select and provision my local CO lines. I need about 10-12 lines which can be POTS lines, of course. But, I thought, why not get something digital and expandable
