oplock break
When trying to delete or copy over certain files on my Samba server, Windows hangs for some time and then gives "access denied". I can delete these files directly from the server, so it's a Samba or Windows problem. There seems to be nothing special about these files, other than that Samba doesn't like touching them. Upon checking the Samba logs, I find this message or

RAID on Email Server
I have an email server running Exim, Dovecot, Spamassassin, Clam, etc. on Centos 4.x 32bit. On occasion I have disk I/O problems. Its handling several domains and alot of email. Its currently on a single SATA drive. I am thinking of moving too 3 drives with RAID 1 for redundancy. RAID 1 will help me on reads but do nothing on writes as I understand. I am thinking the majority of my I/O is

[OT] Lexmark T632 info sought
We have a bunch of old Lexmark T63x printers connected to our LAN. These are accessed via IPP from our CentOS hosts and via TCP for our MicroSoft work stations. Both connections have worked without problems for years. This past week one of the T632s was replaced and since that time we cannot get either IPP or TCP to work with it from our CentOS hosts. It continues to work for the Windows

[LLVMdev] pb05 benchmarks for llvm/dragonegg 3.2
Duncan, With the commit from http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvm-commits/Week-of-Mon-20121203/158488.html, the Polyhedron 2005 benchmarks complete again on x86_64-apple-darwin12. The result are similar to what were seen with FSF gcc 4.6.2svn and llvm/dragonegg 3.0 (which was the last release that passed pb05) http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2011-October/044091.html. custom function & missing value where TRUE/FALSE needed
I can't figure out why this function wont work. #Custom Function used fallInBand <- function(x){ #Assume the bands fall go up form 0 to 100 in intervals of 5 then from 100 to 1000 in intervals of 100. #returns the location (band number) if (is.na(x) == FALSE) { if(x < 100) {#bands of 5 if((x %% 5) >=0){#falls within the band Result = as.integer(x/5)+1

[PS] Two Way ANOVA
Ben, I would like to test the sulfur on the clover field, nitrogen on the clover field and then test for the presence of interaction. Sorry about the last email, seems it really screwed itself over, here it is again, hopefully nicer: Nitrogen(0) Nitrogen(20) Sulfur(0) 4.54 5.73 Sulfur(3) 4.64

HELP! Excel and R give me totally different regression results using the exact same data
Hallo, I am totally confused why Excel and R give me totally different regression results for the data below. If you know the solution, please enlighten me. In Excel I used LINEST() and Data>Data Analysis>Regression and both (fortunately) gave the same result. The coefficients were: /b0=1.16, b1=0.957, b2=0.024, R2=0.0027, adjusted R2=-0.017/ In R I used

nls() and loop
Hello I?m need fitt growth curve with data length-age. I want to evaluate which is the function that best predicts my data, to do so I compare the Akaikes of different models. I'm now need to evaluate if changing the initial values changes the parameters and which do not allow to estimate the model. To do this I use the function nls(); and I randomize the initial values (real positive number).

Speed and memory probs writing large Maildir
I have Dovecot 0.99.9.1 compiled from the source, without SSL, running on a Red Hat 9.0 system - EXT3 file system, Pentium Pro 233 MHz, Intel motherboard, 128M RAM, IBM 40Gig 7200 RPM HD. I find reading and searching to be nice and fast, and comparing it with Courier IMAP on a Celeron 824 MHz, I think Dovecot is generally not much slower, which means it may well be faster than Courier in some or

Memdisk + Loadlin.exe
Can I boot to memdisk using loadlin.exe? I saw that there were references to loadlin in the memdisk init.S (at least in the 2.04 version) so I thought it would be possible. If there's some resource that I can refer to I'd love to know that. DR-DOS 7.02 loadlin.exe 1.6c Sorry if this is a FAQ, I looked through the digest some before I joined this list, but I didn't see anything there

Ham radio application error
I'm attempting to run a ham radio app called DX4WIN in Wine. Install seems to be just fine. Running the app executable results in the following error: "vichw11.sys missing from windows\system32\drivers, please copy file to that location" The install correctly puts the file in that location so obviously there is another issue. I believe this is a device driver for serial/parallel

Samba. DR-DOS and Terabytes...
Hi, We have just built a server with a terabyte of storage for a powerquest deploycenter file server, the deploycenter boot disks start Caldera DR-DOS 7.02 for the actual deploycenter software to run under. We run Linux 7.3 with the samba that ships with that version (sorry, I can't remember off hand and don't have access to a linux box right now) The problem I have is that the

Two Way ANOVA
Hi, I am using the: pcf.aov<-aov(meas~op+part, data=pcf.ex2), command to perform a two way ANOVA. When I save the: sumpcf<- summary.aov(pcf.aov), result of the summary.aov command in a variable I need to access the individual pieces of information in the summary. The summary appears to be a list and I am having a hard time finding a way to get at the information in the summary.

nut 2.2.0 doesn't see MGE Elipse 1200 on FreeBSD 6.2
I'm back to trying to get my MGE Elipse (USB) talking to my FreeBSD system. It used to work fine on Linux (quite some time ago), and was sort-of working with the last release of nut. The system would see the UPS, but couldn't get reliable data from it. Now that I have upgraded to 2.2, I no longer see the UPS at all with nut. The usbdevs command shows it: drich at morpheus|505>

means over factors in mlm terms
I'm trying to write a function to find the means over factors of the responses in a mlm (something I would do easily in SAS with PROC SUMMARY). The not-working stub of a function to do what I want is below, and my problem is that I don't know how to call aggregate (or some other function) in the context of terms in a linear model extracted from a lm/mlm object. means.mlm <-
