TE411P zapata.conf, monitoring echo cancellation and echo tail size
...ssuming I need to set echocancel=no and echocancelwhenbridged=no now that it will be done in hardware, correct? 2. Is there any way to monitor hardware echo cancellation to ensure it is working (apart from being on a call)? 3. The Digium webite says "By supporting 16ms with 128 channels or 64ms on 32 channels this card will perform in the most difficult of environments.". How do I switch the echo tail size between 16ms and 64ms? Thanks..... -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Tweaking AGGRESSIVE_SUPPRESSOR
Using TDM400's here and I have tried everything to cure the echo. I have used the Milliwatt test from the telco and from asterisk to tune RX/TX gain via a patched ztmonitor. What happens is I experience midcall echo. I turned on aggressive_suppressor and it seems to do great. The problem happens with misc. noise around the office will cause it to mute the other end of a phone call while

Patton smartnode 463x (BRI) 25ms tail echo cancellation
Hi all We use pci/pci-e BRI cards in our installations. Due to echo problems (that was before Oslec and others), we quickly switched to cards with hardware-based EC. So we use exclusively Digium B410p cards that provide 64ms tail EC. For several reasons we'd like to switch to external BRI gateways like the Patton smartnodes (the price is getting really close to a B410p). I'm however curious about their HW EC. I see in the datasheets that it only has 25ms tail per channel (pri are 128ms, but not BRI). Are...

High delay from Asterisk as PSTN simulator
I'm trying to use Asterisk as a PSTN simulator to run performance tests for echo cancellation algorithms. I'm using the following configuration: SIP <-----> Asterisk 1 <----> Asterisk 2 <----> Echo() Asterisk 1 and Asterisk 2 are connected using E1. Echo() is the dialplan application. The problem is the high delay using this configuration: 20 ms only in Asterisk 2.

Asterisk 1.2.15 released!
...ing of voicemail subdirectories when using ODBC storage has been improved, so that messages can be forwarded properly. * A problem with forwarding voicemails from folders other than the user's INBOX has been fixed. * The Zaptel channel driver can now support echo cancellers that provide 64ms or 128ms of echo cancellation per channel. Best Echo Canceller.
...oximate price range:) > {clip} I assume you meant a 24 channel T1... Regardless, even if you meant 552 B channels the older (now obsolete) Tellabs 257x cancellers work quite well and are very inexpensive, however you may still encounter issues if you are facing any very long endpaths (ie. > 64ms, such as with digital cordless handsets). See http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Tellabs%20Hardware%20Echo%20Cancellers for details. Approximate price? About us$35 per 24 channel card - check eBay for latest offerings. Hope that helps. Kris Boutilier Information Services Coordinator S...

SIP retry time too low
I have a problem with asterisk-1.2.13, where it retries SIP INVITEs too quickly. It happens when qualify is on, and the server it tries to reach is only 1ms away according to qualify. The time between the first SIP INVITE and the 7th (last) is then only 64ms, and that can be too short for the peer to react. I reported this bug in much more detail in bugs.digium.com, but the bug is gone now without even an email saying where it went. I don't remember the issue number. Somewhat frustrating. /Benny

Octasic echo cancellation
Hi, I'm currently testing SoftEcho, an echo cancellation software for Asterisk from Octasic. I noticed an important increase of the quality of my coms, but I still have a few echo problems. There is an ERL parameter which corresponds to an initial ERL value probably to optimize the echo training or something in that kind. Is there a way to monitor, using one of the zttools, the instant

Echo cancellation
Hi Everybody, Got a weird problem here I think. Got a setup with an asterisk (current from cvs as of a few hours ago) in a box with an el-cheapo ISDN BRI card connected to the PSTN network and two Snom phones internally (one Snom-100 and one Snom-200). Dialing between the snom phones or dialing out to PSTN from any of the snom phones works perfectly. But when I receive a call FROM the PSTN

set zfs:zfs_vdev_max_pending
We have a zpool made of 4 512g iscsi luns located on a network appliance. We are seeing poor read performance from the zfs pool. The release of solaris we are using is: Solaris 10 10/09 s10s_u8wos_08a SPARC The server itself is a T2000 I was wondering how we can tell if the zfs_vdev_max_pending setting is impeding read performance of the zfs pool? (The pool consists of lots of small files).

Best FXO hardware for home use
Hi. I have been searching through old threads and various forums, but can't seem to find out what the consensus view is here on the best type of FXO hardware to use for a home asterisk implementation. Specifically, should I buy a FXO ATA like the Sipura 3000, or a PCI form factor port like the Digium TDM400 series. I have read horrible things about problems with the X100P, so I have ruled

Scaleable Solution for small office
Hi, Have posted to this list a couple of times and have always received great responses and help. I have a basic * system setup Using 3 X100P cards with 6 Snom200 IP phones. It was a bit of a struggle getting everything up and running but have been pretty happy with the flexibility and ease of *. My major problem is one that has been discussed on this list many times before. The echo

Adit 600 and echo
I'm having issues with echo. My setup is Polycom IP501 phones connected to an Adit 600 via T100P. 13 Lines going to the Adit. All echo so far is on the local side (Employees hears own voice, but only on some calls). Watching the channel with ztmonitor, I notice that TXGAIN is pegged out most of the time. RXGAIN is anywhere between 45 and 60%. Is it safe to assume that playing around

Re: Fwd: nbdkit async
The concern is a client is blocked while processing a request. The nbdkit server design requires a thread per request being processed regardless of the number of connections or clients. We want to run 1000's of requests in parallel without needing a thread at nbdkit layer per request in flight. Our plugin layer is built around boost asio and a few threads in a worker pool running an io

which() vs. just logical selection in df
Hi Dr. Snow, & R-helpers, Thank you for your reply! I hadn't heard of the {microbenchmark} package & was excited to try it! Thank you for the suggestion! I did check the reference source for which() beforehand, which included the statement to remove NAa, and I didn't have any missing values or NAs: sum(is.na(dat$gender2)) sum(is.na(dat$gender)) sum(is.na(dat$y)) [1] 0 [1] 0 [1]
