No run cmd /usbhid-ups -k !
Hi all.
UPS is Eaton 5SC 500i.
I tested three solutions:
1. swap "usbhid-ups -a qnapups" with "usbhid-ups -a qnapups -k"
Result: server shutdown, but ups does not shut off!
2. run prog with params "upsmon -c fsd"
Result: server shutdown, but ups does not shut off!
3. run prog "upscmd -u...

Read man ups.conf and man usbhid-ups and try setting the required values in
ups.conf. For example

port = auto
desc = "Eaton 5sc 500i"

Good day.

Details of our installation are:

Installation method: from package
UPS device: EATON UPS 5SC 500i , 230V, 350W, 500VA, USB bought in jun 2018

The problem is that a lot of the UPS status values are more of a de-facto standard, but they have been generally defined in such a way that simpler UPSes only need to report basic status. We don't have

...you be able to test this branch and ack? (including the "covers (or
> not) my needs...)
yeah, I can do that, but I'd prefer to wait a few days and test with a machine
that does nothing else and with NUT software that my main servers does not rely on.
I've just ordered a new Eaton 5SC 1500i as a replacement because it is listed as
very well supported. Once it gets here I'll get the broken UPS free and I'll
install the NUT software on a test machine.

...hink the battery is installed, but it is a really really old battery. I will
try to do a battery test now that it doesn't power anything at all, hopefully a
monitor is enough to do the load test. I could also try to open it and see if
the battery is connected.

ps: in my new UPS Eaton 5SC I could not see a battery manufacture date in the
extended tree data from nut-cgi :-/ so I wrote the install date on a sticker and
put it on it.

How to setup the NUT client on Windows?
Hi,
I have an Eaton 5SC UPS with only 1 USB communication port, but... I
need 3 devices to safely switch off in case of power failure, 2
Synology NAS and 1 PC under Windows 7 (soon 10)!
So I've decided to connect the UPS to the main NAS (via the USB
cable), enabled the "Network UPS server" on the NAS, entere...

Can Not Get UPS to Turn Off After System Shutdown
I just installed NUT on a new Linux (Gentoo) system. Most things work,
(notification after 10 seconds on battery, notification and system
shutdown after 100 seconds on battery.) However I can't seem to get the
UPS (an Eaton 5SC1500) to turn itself off after the Gentoo system shutdown.
This is the shutdown command I am using in /etc/nut/upsmon.conf:
SHUTDOWNCMD "/usr/sbin/upsdrvctl shutdown Eaton5SC1500 ; /sbin/shutdown
-h +0"
The /etc/shutdown part works. The UPS name, Eaton5SC1500, is correct
because the co...

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
