Wondershaper stops limiting outbound traffic

Problem is, sometimes my upload will be limited to 50kb/s and others it''ll be
maxed. This is with wondershaper running too! (verified by ./wshaper

If I stop wondershaper (./wshaper stop) my outbound bandwith does nothing (as
it''s already maxed) but if I try to start it again, nothing happens again

bandwidth limitation per dynamic IP
Hi,
Is there a way to do the following with lartc tools :
I would like to limit any entering user to not use more than Xkb/mb to my
website. The IPs they use are changing all the time so static IP limitation
cannot be used. Is there a way doing so ?

Dumb Centos 8 DNF mirror question...
I have several Centos 8 machines that I update and every now and again I
will go through and update all of them and one of them will get a slow
mirror, like downloading the kernel at 50kb etc. With the newer version I
am unable to figure out how to force it to update the mirror list and
hopefully change to a faster mirror. I have searched but must not be using
the right verbiage since I am unable to find the easy solution to dump the
mirrors and re-select.
Thanks :)

Scriptaculous + Prototype shrunk to < 50Kb
Maybe I''m anal but I like fat-free JS, so I pulled the Proptotype and core
Scriptaculous files into one single JS file at 49Kb.
It''s "packed" so if you care about that kind of thing, it''s also
"obfuscated".

A Billion Files on OCFS2 -- Best Practices?
We have an application that has many processing threads writing more than a
billion files ranging from 2KB ? 50KB, with 50% under 8KB (currently there
are 700 million files). The files are never deleted or modified ? they are
written once, and read infrequently. The files are hashed so that they are
evenly distributed across ~1,000,000 subdirectories up to 3 levels deep,
with up to 1000 files per directory....

Zero-blocks in large files (smb in libvirt/kvm RHEL)
Hi!
I'm having a very strange problem, and I'm running out of ideas how to
debug it :)
Whenever I copy large files (several hundred MB/GB per file), it happens
every now and then that some of them have blocks of zeroes in them. If it
happens, it's always between around 50kB and 150kB.
The problem occurs when I copy files from Debian6 to Samba on RHEL6.5,
using rsync.
It happens frequently, but not always...
The system setup is rather complex, since it's a network-based
multi-server 300 TB mass storage. That's why there's Linux Kernel software
RAID, libv...

FTP transfers locking up Shorewall
...ng through the site''s documentation and searching on this mailing
list...so here it is:
I have an FTP server behind my Shorewall box, in my LAN (I know, bad
security practice), and ports are mapped through DNAT rules.
Now, whenever I transfer big files, at high, sustained data rates
(~40-50KB/s), Shorewall seems to disable all rules between my LAN and
the Internet. Result: no communication, in or out, is made between the
two zones. The Shorewall box itself, though, retains it''s net access.
I then have to restart Shorewall to restore access communication
between my LAN and the...

Hi all.
I have problem with performance ocfs2. I just instaled ocfs2 1.4.1 in 2 nodes cluster. I use ocfs2 in mail server. This system has large amount of small files about 50kB.

pxelinux.0 tftp kernel vmlinuz transfer hangs on PXE startup
Hello,
I just would like to let you know that after investigating a
while, it seems to me that the vmlinuz kernel ( Centos 5.6 Xen ) tftp
transfer is hanging because there look to be some buffer overflow on the
client side because after a while ( more or less 50Kb transfer ) , there
is no more acknoledgment coming back from the client even in the last
syslinux distribution revision 4.0.4.
I hope it will help.

is sssd *faster* than samba4's builtin winbind?
Using samba 4.0.9 as an AD DC (no other domain servers).
Since my UIDs and GIDs have changed, I was doing cleanup:
find /srv/svn/ -xdev '(' -nouser -o -nogroup ')' -ls
I noticed this was very slow -- iostat reported only about 2tps and
50kB/s to my disks. So I timed it with nsswitch.conf users & groups set
to "files" vs. "files winbind":
# with "files"
root at gumbo:~# time find /srv/svn/ -xdev \
'(' -nouser -o -nogroup ')' -printf x >x

uncertainty in decoding. It seems to me this patch doesn't change the
encoding speed, and the analyse.c patch doesn't change the decoding
speed.
Kind regards, Martijn van Beurden
P.S.: I'm sending this for the second time, sorry if it arrives twice.
It seems to me e-mails over 50kb don't get through.

leaky bucket on bursty multicast
Hi all,
I have an average 2mbit multicast stream that once in a while bursts
high (up to 20mbit/s) in short periods (about 200ms). Could anyone
please help me with directions using tc for configuing leaky bucket
shaping to this stream? I have a 5mbit/s ceiling.
My system is running gentoo linux 2.6.14, and I have compiled in all
QoS modules.
Thanks.
