Traffic shaping an apartment building
....0)
I had look at http://www.docum.org/ and http://ds9a.nl/lartc/. I just not
sure what I need to do next I have read the documents at the latter and it
seems confusing to me. What I would like to do is give almost everyone in
the apartment a 64k connection with exception of my friends machines (384k)
and apartment manager machine (384k).

Bridging Video Calls using Zap
Hi!
For demonstration purposes I try to bridge an incoming video call from a
3G mobile handset to another 3G mobile handset using asterisk as "switch".
On the incoming call leg I see all expected bearer capabilities
(Digital, 64k Transparent, G.7xx 384k video) but on the outgoing call
leg the bearer capability G.7xx 384k video get lost and therefore the
call is dropped from the mobile operator.
What I have tried so far ist to use SetTransferCapability(VIDEO) but
this does not change the behavior.
Is there a way to set or preserve the bearer capa...

voip quality/bandwidth/latency techniques
I have voip quality issues I would like to minimize. I have a ~=

2.6.9 kernel) with 5 NAT''d devices (3 PCs "DHCP", 2 Vonage adapters

QoS & VPN
I've got multiple satellite office all linked back to the main office
via VPN. Each office has their own asterisk server which registers back
to the main office's Asterisk server. Each office also has a 1Mb
downstream / 384k - 768k upstream connection. The branches are using
Speex for their connections back to the main office. The issue I'm
having is that there are times that I need to VNC in to machines at the
various offices for tech support while the user is also on the phone.
Unfortunately the VNC connec...

ABE, Sangoma, T-1 no recognizing calls
Hello All,
I have a setup of ABE on rPath linux,Sangoma A101D, and a T-1 line (Not PRI)
which is all happily coexisting and all lights are green.
The T-1 comes in from the world into a "Shark Box" which splits the T into
384K data and 6 channels voice. The data side is working great. The voice
side, not so great. It was originally broken out to 6 pots line and Verizon
came back and swapped cards in the shark and now it is a T-1 out. Wanrouter,
zaptel and asterisk are all apparently happy. When I place a call to...

I've been monitoring the stream from my place (via 3m/384k ASDL, about 16

Permission denied for volume create in raw format
Hi,
I'm facing similar problem to described here:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libvirt-users/2016-February/msg00033.html
I got Libvirt pool mounted over netfs and I'm trying to create new volume,
with pool.createXML. When format is qcow2, everything works fine.
Unfortunately, for raw images libvirt raises error Permission denied. Whole
pool is owned by root. Libvirt starts as root user

Bandwith thinking error
Hi,
I found that I had some thinking error with the wshaper script. I assigned
the bandwith of my DSL connection to it, but the machine where it runs is
normally connected to the LAN with 100Mbit behind a separate
Hardware-Router.Obviously, the complete connection of the machine was slowed down to 384k
because I told it so.I guess, since wshaper takes only one card as argument, I can''t use that
script for shaping, as I just want to slow done specific services on that
card, but I can''t enter the correct value for Bandwith.
So what is the correct way to go? I think I need two path...

Question on sNAT for multiple external subnets
I''m wondering if the following is possible under recent versions of
shorewall:
1. We have several class-C networks from both UUNet and Internap, both of
which are actually routed over a single inbound ethernet line from UUNet
at our colocation facility: 204.176.148.0/23 and 216.52.83.0/24. This
gives us a total of 3 class-C subnets. All packets for these three subnets
would land on

imap problems
Hi,
I''m really new to traffic shaping and try to implement the wshaper.htb
script.
I have a linux box that serves as vdr, mldonkey, samba, apache and
mailserver (imap), connected to my LAN with 100mbit. I''m connected to
the inet via adsl with a hardware router/firewall, got 384k downlink 64k
uplink. When I have mldonkey running, imap (via Outlook) gets *very*
slow (mails with attachments take 5-10mins to show), and even ssh to the
linux-box gets sluggish. I tried to put imap into the wshaper script,
did I do something wrong?
Here''s the script:
