PCI-X/PCIe RAID controller.
Afternoon,
I've got an old Dell PERC 4DC (PCI 64bit/33MHz) sitting in my home rig
and with a new board on the way that has PCI-X (133) and PCIe (x4)
slots, I was wondering what people would recommend for a cheap
hardware parallel SCSI RAID controller (no fake raid please) that is
relatively cheap but faster then the old PERC? I'm looking for
something...

Entry server hardware
Hello,
I would like some advice on a SATA RAID controller that is able to work
in a 32 bit/33mhz PCI slot. I have been looking for a while but all I
can find is 64 bit cards that cost over $300. I just need it to mirror 2
drives, and of course work in Centos 4.2. I am not looking for RAID 5
or anything like that. All the cards I find that would do this are
fakeraid.
Also, has anyone used...

TE210P mother board
Hi all,
I'm going to configure a middle asterisk installation. I'll use a TE210P to
connect a T1 channel bank and a PRI E1 line.
I'm thinking on using a SuperMicro P8SCT Mother Board that has a 1x 64-bit
133MHz PCI-X 3.3V.
In TE210P documentation I've read:
The TE210P is a 32-bit 33MHz card keyed for 3.3 volt operation.
Can SuperMicro slot (that is a 133Mhz slot) be used for TE210P card ?
Does anybody have used this board with asterisk ? Has it any know
incompatibility ? (it uses IntelR E722...

Ogg VEO Codec, video in an Ogg stream
I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I ported a lossy
delta update video compression algorithm to use the Ogg stream
layer. The algorithm was written several years ago in high school to
play video at about ~5 - 10 fps on their 33mhz 486 + turbo pascal machines
becase writing link list palendrome programs was too easy.
The codec does what it says (at least on an Intel Linux machine), but
isn't useful yet for realtime video decompression. It can also use some
tweaks to get rid of some wasted bits in the output stream. Rig...

Dell PowerEdge 1800 and TE410P
Hi,
I've been asked to find a server that is capable of running the Digium
TE410P card. We usually get Dell PE servers and after a quick look I
think the PE 1800 has the required slot:
Six Total: 2 PCI Express (x8 lane & x4 lane); 2 x 64-bit/100MHz PCI-X; 1
x 32-bit/33MHz PCI (5v) and 1 x 64-bit/66MHz PCI
Has anyone got this hardware, does it work with the card and asterisk?
Thanks,
Niall

Packet mangling latency
Firstly... sorry to those of you on both the netfilter and lartc list
who''ll end up with this message twice...
I am trying to find out what kind of latency I can expect when dNAT''ing
UDP packets on (probably) a mid-range P3 server, 32-bit 33MHz PCI bus with
Intel EEPro NICs. It''ll most likely be running whatever the latest 2.4
kernel will be at the time, unless there are significant boosts in packet
mangling performace in 2.6.
Sorry that this is such vague set of specs, but this is just a vague idea
at the moment. Any suggesti...

Portal crashes when I click new game.
I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 with the newest version of Wine. I'm relatively new to Linux, but I do understand the basics of terminal. I have Portal installed on the Steam platform in Ubuntu through Wine, and when I open it, it all starts up beautifully, but when it gets to the main menu, some objects are missing in the background and you can see some glitched up areas. Then, when I click

Dual or quad fast ethernet NICs (that work with CentOS)
Hi,
I am looking for dual or quad fast ethernet NICs that work with CentOS.
There is no need for high performance so regular fast/pci is ok.

scrub differs in execute time?
I have a raidz2 and did a scrub, it took 8h. Then I reconnected some drives to other SATA ports, and now it takes 15h to scrub??
Why is that?

[Bridge] recent crashes? Linux kernel 2.6.18-1.2239.fc5 (Linux Fedora Core 5)
At the risk of angering the crash Gods, my sustem has NOT crashed again
since I downgraded the kernel from 2.6.18-1.2239.fc5 to 2.6.18-1.2200.fc5.
Given that newfound stability, and my lack of time, I'm going to put on
hold any further diagnostics, until the next kernel revision is released.
I have submitted a report at bugzilla.redhat.com (bug 218128). (Ah, nuts;

cciss solution for CentOS 7
I've recently come across a thread in the CentOS forums [0] regarding
the solution to getting hardware requiring the cciss driver, such as HP
ProLiant G5 systems, to install and boot with CentOS 7. The thread was a
start in the right direction, but I believe I've determined a better
workflow and feel that it would benefit the community to have this
published either in the release
