Also, the vertical axis moves linearly from 300S to 300N. It seems that no matter what data I supply for datas, the axes are always labeled this way. My question is: 1. Does this problem occur on oth...

HP T1000 G3 shutting down too fast
...have an HP T1000 G3 for looking after three desktop PCs, a switch and a router. The batteries seem to be fine (battery tests, charge levels), but when I'm testing a power-failure, the UPS starts the FSD much too soon (judging by the battery charge level monitored with upsc). The load is about 300W, less than half nominal load, so despite the batteries not being brand new, it ought to keep going for maybe 5 minutes. Instead it starts the shut down after about 20 seconds. This sounds like a case for "ignorelb", I was just wondering if this is well known for this UPS? -- Per Jess...

24V DC ATX PSU with limited UPS functionality over USB
Hello Developers and *, I am working on a "24V DC ATX PSU" for Photopholtaik Systems which can have input voltages from 18V to 27.7 Volt and is entirely modular, which mean, you can select the desired module/s (up to 6) from ATX (96/144/240/300W), P4 (144W), SATA (82/305W) and Device (34/68/136W) And last not least, I want to build a "PowerWhatch" module which should be connected from the PSU to an internal USB port of the mainboard. Currently I do not know, whether I should use Maxims 1-Wire chips like the DS2450 which has fou...

Raid / dual Opteron power issues
...joy out of recompiling the kernel. Its been several years since I last compiled a kernel and the process has changed for the better). I've been in contact with 3Ware. From the error logs I supplied to them, it looks like the issue is an insufficient power supply. Their rule of thumb is 300W for the motherboard and 35 W for each disk drive. That means that I would need (at a theoretical minimum) a 650 W power supply - which I have. I only notice the problem in SMP mode, not in uniprocessor mode. That suggests to me that (1) I have a boarderline-sufficient power supply that can...

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)

Do they have their own UPS's?

(Fwd) Re: Slightly OT: Generators & UPS
Hi, I'm the original poster on the subject. Thanks for all the replies. A few more points. The generator outputs 7kw @ 220V. The total PC's supplied is about 9. I estimate power consumption to be 9 x 300w=2700w 4 halogens @ 400w each=1600w 10 Compact Flourescents @ 11w =110w Therefore total power=4410w Which leaves me with spare capacity of about 2590w (in theory). I think its the halogen lamps that is helping "smooth" out the power. Previously, when I ran the generator, I did not have...

supermicro with asterisk and tdm cards
Guys. Anybody using supermicro mobos and chassis with TDM cards? I would like to know which models are you using (mobos and chassis and also CPUs) and how many TDM cards have you been able to put in without having IRQ issues like in other cases. Ive read supermicro servers play nice with asterisk but it is always good to ask I guess. Thx! AK

Questions about Eaton 5E 1, 100W 2, 200VA 6-Outlet UPS
...were 21.50 and 21.10. So far these are the 'active' numbers, I need to wait for the battery to recover before performing a lower power test. default.battery.voltage.high = 24.10 default.battery.voltage.low = 21.50 runtimecal = 450,32,?,? I plan to re-test with a load of 8 to 10 (about 300W) since I'm unlikely to have a load much less than that. Alternately, I could test with that 60W bulb... However while the runtimecal recommends picking values that are as far apart as reasonable, I want to target at least one end nearer to the likely load during normal use as I feel that will...

Compression Artifacts at -q 5. Help!
Hi Everyone, My first posting to the list. Longtime Ogg fan, have created many .oggs, but this is the first time needing help. I've been transferring CDs to Ogg files using crip. I've been in the process of setting up a bunch of mules to transfer my music collection to electronic format, but I've found an oddity: >bash$ oggenc -q 5 oddity.wav >Opening with wav

Any 24 (or 30) way FXS PCI cards?
It seems to me silly to have a T1/E1 card to connect to a channel bank when you could just have a 24/30 way FXS card in the slot in the first place. Does such a thing exist? Wouldn't Digium have a lot of customers if they could produce one for say < $1000 retail?

Intel 1000/PRO GT (e1000 driver) and "Detect Tx Unit Hang" error with 4GB RAM
...t;de", so I must believe that the script is correct in assessing that it does not apply to my NICs. So, I thought that perhaps my power supply could be the problem. Perhaps the PSU doesn't supply enough power to power everything when I add the 4th memory module. It is just a generic 300W PSU that came with the case (I have new 500W PSUs on the way). So, I pulled out one of the NICs and disconnected the DVD drive. That is about all I can eliminate. Reducing the hardware installed made no difference. I am running the 64-bit kernel, so I should have no trouble supporting the 4G...

Slightly OT: Generators & UPS
Hi, Can anyone shed some light on this: My PC's are on a separate power circuit. Each PC has its own UPS. I have an old Honda generator. When the power goes out, I fire up the generator. However, the UPS's still run on battery. If I connect the PC directly to the socket and bypass the UPS, the PC works. I was told by a UPS supplier, that the power output from the generator was

5.1-R-p2 crashes on SMP with AMI RAID and Intel 1000/Pro
Dear Sirs. It seems to me a never ending story. We run a box with a TYAN Thunder 2500 Dual SMP mainboard, 2GB ECC Tyan certified memory, AMI Enterprise 1600 RAID adapter and additional Intel 1000/Pro server type (64 bit) GBit LAN NIC. With FreeBSD 4.8 this was stable, but to achive this state was really hard! It is a story similar to that what happend when we changed towards FreeBSD
