Reducing RAM requirement of sshd
Hi All,
I have ported OpenSSH on an embedded uClinux platform. My main concern is that sshd takes 1 MB if RAM while its in running state and for each incoming connection it eats up 1 mb ram again. I am looking for help in reducing RAM requirement for ssh daemon. Any comments ?
Thanks in advance,
Reema.

I've been using rsync for a long time, and it's very cool. For the
first time, last night, I got a message I don't understand. I am using

command I am using is:

Running a 32-bit application on CentOS3-x64
Hi,
I'm trying to run Norman anti-virus on a CentOS 3 box, x64. Is it
possible?
Running the binary gives me this error:
[root at server bin]# ./nvcc
-bash: ./nvcc: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or
directory
I guess I would have to install i386 libraries that it requires, as well.
It it possible?

time setting after suspend/resume
Hi,
I am using libvirt with qemu/kvm with qemu-guest-agent and
suspend/save/resume linux and windows vm's. Time in Windows gets
handled fine with ntp but I can get neither ntp or chrony to sync after
resume without manually setting the time close to correct first.
Searching has gotten me to the point where I can manually set the time
using qemu-guest-agent but I cant figure out how to get

Getting IOAPIC errors in xl dmesg on old hardware
I am getting a series of IOAPIC errors in xl dmesg on a Dell OptiPlex
GX100 machine (bought in 2000). I also get an error from traps.c which
is very similar to the one in the ''Getting mm.c errors from xl dmesg on
certain hardware'' thread. This happens during system startup with no
DomUs running. I have attached the xl dmesg log.

libtdb and BADLOCK (CVE-2016-2118)
Does mitigation of the so-called BADLOCK CVE (CVE-2016-2118) for Samba 3.x
imply an upgrade to a non-vulnerable version of the tdb library?
If so, can someone point me to any documentation on the tdb vulnerability?
Thanks,

Can I catch something like Errno::EBADF with rescue?
All,
I am using Net::HTTP to make requests for URLs in my app. When I get a
bad server, I get "Bad file descriptor - connect(2)" message on a
ERRNO:EBADF error.
Can I catch with rescue or otherwise gracefully react to that error?
Thanks,
Wes

Simple-Scan
Hi,
I just upgraded from 6.4 to 6.5. In 6.4 I had a scanner program
"simple-scan". I can't seem to get it for 6.5. I tried the elrepo and
forge repositories but they are not available there. I tried to rebuild
it from source but that didn't work. Any suggestions would be
appreciated. FYI: My Fujitsu scanner is not TWAIN compliant but it
