Polycom Power Specs
Does anybody happen to know the input power specs for the Polycom IP 500
and IP 600? We've mixed up our power supplies and we've got a whole box
of them and can't figure out which go to the Polycoms. I would rather
not kill the phones by trying random ones....

stupid trick of the day (fried polycom)
I've been playing around with a new system I'm going to install in
another office. In setting up the Polycom's, I accidently used a new
power supply from a new 601 (24VDC) with an 600. The 600 only
require 12VDC. Now, I get nothing on the screen of the 600 when I
plug in 12 VDC. (At the time, I didn't even realize the power
supplies were supplying different voltages.)
Guess I'll have to buy a new 601 to replace the 600.

Hang-up Detect - Yet Again
...detection of incoming PSTN calls.
* answers the call, but if the incoming caller hangs up, * does not release
the line.
I have determined the following information about my line:
When On-Hook line voltage = 24.5VDC
When Off-Hook line voltage = 8.27VDC
When Ringing line voltage alternates between 24VDC (no ring) and 40+VDC
(ringing)
I also determined that when a caller hangs up, there is a couple of clicks
on the line, then a dial tone.
I am using Kewlstart signalling.
I have tried BUSYDETECT and CALLPROGRESS, but to no avail.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Can anyone tell me what type...

# IP601's with POE per Catalyst 3560G-48PS
Hello people,
I am having difficulties figuring out the POE power draw in
watts from a Polycom IP601. I want to know how many
IP601's can be powered from the Cisco Catalyst 3560G-48PS.
The IP601 wallwart has: Input 120VAC 60hz 19W, Output 24VDC
500mA. I assume the output is appropriate value to figure
out how many phones can be powered.
The Cisco 3560 datasheet says "the 48-port PoE
configurations can deliver the necessary power to support
24
ports at 15.4W, 48 ports at 7.7W, or any combination in
between" ...370 Watts POE ma...

Tripplite UPS
Leslie,
This message is most appropriate for the NUT user list. I kept Rik
Faith's and Nicholas Kain's copyright information because the
tripplite_usb driver borrows heavily from the tripplite (serial)
driver, but they are not responsible for the mess that I made in the
USB driver.
See below.

Power-outage
I have a CentOS-5.6 remote server in a house in Italy,
where there are occasional thunder-storms.
There was one yesterday, when the electricity
went off 3 times, for a second or so on each occasion.
My server, an HP MicroServer,
came back (re-booted) on 2 of the 3 occasions,
but not on the third.
I assume that the problem arises because the machine
does not close down properly.
