Getting the last day of the month.
...the
month, I tried
> as.Date(as.yearmon(x$Date,frac=0))
But I don't get the last day of the month here. (Tried frac=1 too.)
I then add a month to the date, substract one day from the resultant
date. But this wouldn't work for December.

Creating yyyymm regexp strings on the fly for aggregation.
...unlist(lapply(yrs, function(x){ paste(x,formatC(numSplits, width = 2, flag = 0), collapse = "|", sep = "")}))
}
Here is an example of running the function:
groupingStrings(2004:2006, 1:3)
[1] "200401|200402|200403" "200501|200502|200503" "200601|200602|200603"
This would yield first quarter matches for the years 2004 through 2006.
My plan was to use both splitIt and groupingStrings to be able to create regexps all quarters.
In addition I want it to be flexible enough for me to be able to create matching regexps for monthly, quarterly, semi-annu...

Problem with network performance
Hello,
We are trying to deploy our new ldap servers infrastructure with
virtual servers running with xen. So we have installed two debian (etch)
virtual machines under different domU''s (domUs are debian etch two). We
are using bridge networking in xen, with default init scripts.
In our test environment, these servers are working fine. But we are
having problems with these new servers

The inaugural Shorewall survey!
Greetings to all of the Shorewall community!
We''d like to find out a little more about the environments in which
Shorewall runs, and to this end i''ve created a survey. It is mostly
designed to allow Shorewall users to see how their environment compares
with that of the average Shorewall user (if such a thing exists!), but
the results may be used by the Shorewall team to assist

Ping/Traceroute problem in 1 of 4 links
Hi you all guys/girls from this list,
I almost never use email lists, but this problem is driving me crazy.
I use shorewall for a long time ( since version 1.2.x) but now I use it
where I work, and here we now have 4 different ISP for redundance and
because it''s cheaper then 1 ISP and a bigger link. 3 of 4 ISP I have no
problems, but on the 4th ISP here goes my problem :
I have a
