attr_names in test67
Hello,
I'm wondering if the following situation is valid (though I think it
isn't since I still cannot authenticate with ldap pass/userdb on
test67 running on FreeBSD-5.3).
Is it normal that the passdb_ldap_conn->attr_names second element (for
instance) "turns to" "homeDirectory" as the following step by step gdb
run sample shows ? :

wishlist: ''none'' as source address in rules
Hi,
I plug my laptop in different networks and use the following hack to
configure automatically shorewall for trusted/untrusted networks:
In /etc/shorewall/params:
# none is a dummy zone associated to the loopback interface
NONE="none:0.0.0.0"
# Network scheme, automatically detected by intuitively
NETWORK_SCHEME="$(cat /etc/network/scheme 2>/dev/null)"

Hi

when i create a user account with pop3 email i find that if i don't send and
email to the account (so that sendmail creates the file under
/var/spool/mail/testuser) where "testuser" is the users username. If the

LSUB matches prefix bug?
I think I've found a minor bug in the LSUB command:
. LSUB "" "*"
gives
...
* LIST (\Noselect) "/" "#maildir"
^^^^
* LSUB () "/" "#maildir/test4"
where I have a namespace with prefix "#maildir/".
Here's a patch to make it not list the namespace prefix in an LSUB
command (or should it list it as 'LSUB

assertion failed in 1.0-stable
Hello everybody,
I get the following assertion error with dovecot 1.0-stable when
accessing a large folder:
file istream-raw-mbox.c: line 383 (istream_raw_mbox_get_body_size):
assertion failed: (rstream->body_offset != (uoff_t)-1)
There is no error when using dovecot 0.99.14.
Any ideas ?

Multiple auth mechinisms
From the WIki features page, (
http://wiki.dovecot.org/moin.cgi/CoreFeatures ) it's not clear to me if
the dovecot-stable release supports multiple authentications mechanisms
(like in 1.0-testxx). I need both virtual domains and system users. Can
I use the stable release for this?
Thanks,

Dovecot causing hanging on random folders...
I've been using the 1.0 test series (currently 1.0test 67 and before
that 1.0-test59) and both exhibited this issue.. I use Thunderbird and
will open one or two of my nested Maildir folders via imap and find that
it goes out there trying to open the folder (according to the messages
that Thunderbird claims) and it never comes back.. I've attached to the
various dovecot processes to

Ogg Vorbis DirectShow status ?
Hi!
What is the status of DirectShow support (read: playy vorbis in Windows
Media Player 9 or 10 ) ?
The vorbis.com web pages only link to some ancient web pages (xwmedia and
tobias).
I remember there was a wiki page about setting this up (partially written by
me),
but can't find it any more.
Was the idea of playing ogg/vorbis in DS applications dropped ?

dovecot and evolution
I am using dovecot 0.99.13 and Evolution 2.0.2 on Fedora Core 3.
Recently, Ximian stopped being able to access my local INBOX via IMAP,
failing with the following error:
Error while Opening folder imap://malsyned at localhost/INBOX.
Incomplete server response: no information provided for message 1.
I got a transcript of the conversation between Evolution and dovecot.

SORT using cached filesystem modtimes
Timo or anyone,
This may be a bug or maybe a design decision. Either way I am curious to
hear comments.
Why do the dovecot-0.99.14 server's .imap.index files contain a cached
copy of each message's date and time as supplied by the filesystem, as
opposed to the date and time found in each message header?
When testing various imap clients (eg. tbird-1.0.2, evolution-2.0,

Trying to allocate 0 bytes in index-mail-headers.c
Here's a new one. It just started with the latest (April 8) CVS
version.
In index-mail-headers.c, line 622:
fields = t_new(struct mail_cache_field, count);
count is 0
I'm seeing this with several mailboxes. We're using mbox.
Here's the error message and backtrace.
