wine 20010824 and missing command line options
Hi all,
I recently compiled and installed a new version of wine (20010824). Everything works fine, but alot of command line options are missing.
The options I get with wine --help are: --debugmsg name, --dll name, --dosver x.xx, --help,-h, --managed, --version,-v, --winver.
I miss commandline options like: --desktop and --display. Are they no longer supported?
Thanx for...

wine reports wrong version
I have been running, first, codeweaver's wine and, just recently I built
and installed wine-20010918-1. Nonetheless, no matter which version I have
had, doing a "wine --version" produces "Wine release 20010824".
I have uninstalled wine before switching from one version to another.
Doing "rpm -qa |grep wine" shows only wine-20010918-1 installed. Somewhere
is a file/config that is causing wine to misreport which version it
is...and this also makes me wonder if this situation is a poten...

Font too large for widget with wine 20010824
Hello,
I just upgraded to the new version and suddenly an app that had always
worked fine started misbehaving.
The problem is that the text is now too big for the widget inside
which it appears. Unfortunately, the widget has no scrollbars and the
app doesn't allow me to change font size.
Is there a way I can change font metrics? Sorry if this is a simple
case of RTFMing...
Thanks,

wine not installing
I've recently installed RH Linux 7.0 on my home PC
I've downloaded a wine rpm (wine-20010919-1.i386) to run my windows

But when I try to install it (thru gnorpm) it gives two dependecy

2) freetype.so.6 (I dont remember this correctly)
if I understand correctly, these libraries are part of XFree86 libs,
so why I am getting this message ? and what

Wine-20010824 problems with wineinstall and loading windows DLL's
Hi
I am running Slackware Linux 8.0 with Kernel 2.4.5 and perl 5.6.1. I
have my windows partition(D:) mounted at /windows and my fat
startuppartition(C:) at /dos. Windows itself is found in /windows/windows.
I tried installing Wine-20010824 using wineinstall and these are the
problems I had:
- When wineinstall was searching for existing windows installations it
said: 'Windows was not found on your system, so I asume you want a
Wine-only installation. Am I correct?'
-> So I checked what wineinstall did to find the windo...

Don''t know how to compile tc
I am trying to build iproute2-2.4.7-20010824 from source on a 2.4.24
kernel. I have played a bit with ADDLIB and LDLIBS variables but I
always get errors so I suppose it''s best if instead of playing I try to
understand what does the following mean (from the README file):
ADDLIB should contain inet_* functions, if your libc contai...

You killed Half-Life!
I don't know if it's just me or if there is an issue in wine, but HL seems
to be getting buggier with every release. I've been having issues with the
loading screen since 20010629, but when I moved to 20010824 things just
got bad, I get a crash after trying to join a second game (play one, exit,
join another). It's an actual bug in the code too, I believe it was a
buffer error but I was hoping someone else would have reported it (it's
an addiction after all and I've downgraded to 20010510 now...

Cups Printing
I've just moved over to Cups printing system and installed the 20010824
version of wine (with cops support) after removing a June 2001 version.
Everything seem to work and Wine does recognize the printers on my
system but when I print a document from Lotus Notes (5.05) nothing comes
out of the printer. The print dialog box opens and and I can get a print

Dead keys on Wine
Hello,
I use wine (release 20010824) for Lotus Notes R5 and sometimes Winzip. It works
fine with some customizations and in desktop mode instead of managed window
mode.
My problem is that I am French and I cannot use dead keys which is very annoying
with french language.
For example a 'e' with a circumflex accent is usually o...

Commandline tools broke between Sept 21 and 20011108?
I have been running Wine-20010824 updated via cvs to Sept 21
quite happily for some time.
Today I updated to Debian testing's version of wine,
which is 20011108. It seems to work-- but commandline
windows apps are now behaving very strangely.
Wine seems to put the console into raw mode!
This causes programs that read lines fr...
