SPA-2000, call for help testing echo issues...
In my hunt to track down my echo issues, I tried disabling all echo cancellation, suppression, adaption, on my SPA-2000 (Advanced section of the config, under Line 1/2). Then calling from one local extension to another. (SPA-2000 Line1, to Line2 on the same device) I was pretty shocked with the results, the echo was HORRIBLE! I even tried 3 different analog phones. Now, once I turned the echo cancellation back on...

Grandstream GXP-2000's and Asterisk.
I have 5 GXP 2000's with firmware 1.1.4.25 running with Asterisk 1.4.13. Is anyone else getting the following error in the asterisk console: [Oct 22 11:39:01] WARNING[7100]: rtp.c:1142 ast_rtp_read: RTP Read too short every couple of seconds when a handset is in a call? I didn't notice this happening whe...

Fax with SPA-2000's?
I've been trying to get fax reception to work using an SPA-2000 to ring the fax machine or modem that's taking fax calls. I was curious if anyone else had tried something similar, and if so, had any luck getting it to work reliably. I've been able to get it to work, but it isn't reliable. (Pages/lines of black dots result more frequently than n...

3 PSTN lines, 3 IP Phones
Hi all, Newbie quest here. I have 3 PSTN lines (2430-2432) setup by the CLEC in a hunt group coming in to a TDM04B and 3 Grandstream gxp-2000's (say a,b and c) and Asteriskathome installed. I want all phones (a,b,c) to be able to take calls from the hunt group. Does this mean I must make 9 SIP extensions on * ? 3 for each IP phone? and group them in trtiplets (ring groups?) corresponding to each of the 3 PSTN lines?...

SPA-2000
Hi, I have not implemented any of the spa-2000's yet. Do they work ok with asterisk? Is the 2000 capable of having 2 FXS extensions off each one or is it two fxs ports with the same extension?

humor (was Re: OT: systemd Poll)
> > Of course, to be fair, there may have been a *reason* for not doing it > that way before.... > Between the early 1990's and early 2000's the price of a GB of memory went from ~$100,000 to ~$1000*. I guess a lot of the design decisions made for things like init were focussed on this. In 1995 is was common for server platforms to have 32Mb ram whereas the kernel alone in my PC here at home is consuming just over 500MB. It seems...

Sipura Adapter SPA-2002
Hello. Has anyone run into problems accessing voicemail with the Sipura SPA-2002's? Our SPA-2000's work fine (registers fine, able to make and receive calls properly & also able to access voicemail). We've configured the 2002's exactly the same way. However, with the SPA-2002 we're unable to access the voicemail system (though it does register fine and is able to make...

Fw: Windows 2000 breaks the samba client

This is a major problem. When I try to list and mount shares on Windows 2000 computer from a Linux box running SMBFS and Samba, I get no share listin...

Calls being dropped
We have the latest version of asterisk, on a xeon dell server (2gb ram), with 6 snom320's(latest firmware) and 3 grandstream gxp 2000's (latest stable firmware) and are having a few problems. We have a basic menu that transfers calls to different extensions. The problems can be found on all extensions. We have 2 different incoming providers and the problem happens on both providers. Flash Zap trunk from a Sipura
Hello, In my quest to create several proof of concepts for what can be done with Asterisk, I've run into a bit of a problem. I have a pair of SPA-2000's acting as off premise extensions for an analog line. When a call waiting call comes in, the caller id information makes it though the ULAW codec and displays on the caller id box, however asterisk doesn't seem to want to pick up the hook-flash sent by the Sipura to answer that second...

NAT/Proxy advise
...ns. I have am setting up a network of both office and home based workers. The office workers will be on the same network as the Asterisk box so no NAT hassles there. However, the home workers are on their own DSL connections so I imagine that most will be behind NAT. I had hoped to use Sipura SPA-2000's but I presume I would need either STUN or a proxy to make these work if behind NAT. Please could I ask for any recommendations as to which approach would be best and what software/hardware people recommend. Thanks for any help and advise, Neil

Granstream GXP2000 Distinctive tones
I recently posted a question RE the Sipura 941 and using different ring tones, Thanks to hads I managed to use SET(_ALERT_INFO=Classic-1) to achieve this but trying this on the GXP 2000's didn't seem to do the trick?? Has anyone one had any luck on this topic? Also haven't been able to find any info on an auto-answer for the GXP 2000, again, I have succeeded in doing so with the SPA 941's but no luck with the Grandstream units, I'm sure it can be done but n...

very slow network from GXP-2000 switch port
Hello, At a client site yesterday I installed a dozen GrandStream GXP-2000's with 1.1.0.13 firmware but I had to backtrack and reactivate the old PBX and phones: network access for users windoze PC's through the phone's switch port was unbearably slow, making it almost impossible to work. When plugging back PC's directly to the LAN speed was normal aga...

Transfer/Speed-Dial
The vast majority of what I've done with Asterisk has been with the Grandstream GXP-2000's. These phones work great for us for everything *except* speaker quality is quite poor and appears to be half-duplex. So now that we've bought and are using 40 GXP-2000's we're doing some testing on other phones. I've bought a Polycom 301 & 501 as well as a Linksys SPA942...

Voted most stable and easy to use phone?
...ons were made but the new polycom phones had just hit the market and not many people were able to comment on them. Basically i am looking to get some new phones and in the process get rid of the countless number of problems i have had that has always been caused by phones (snom 360's and gxp-2000's). I would like to get the feedback of the list on the phone voted best for stability, working with *, and ease of use for dumb non tech users. I was thinking of trying one of these new polycom phones that are about $150, but havent gotten any feedback on them yet. Basically i am interest...

finding a compiled version of samba
...ase send me a copy of one of the most recent "compiled" versions of samba. If not, could you please direct me to the location on the internet where I can download the versions that have already been compiled and I can just load it into my Sun and HP-UX machines. Our site has 2 SPARCcenter 2000's, a SPARCserver 670, an Enterprise 450 server, a sparc 2, a sparc 10, 2 Ultra 10's, an HP 725/100, an HP 755, an HP i70, and an HP 9000 K260. I know I would still have to create the smb.conf file, but due to the lack of technical support around here these days I just don't have time t...
