Dual Band Wireless
Hi, Because of heavy interference in the 2.5GHz range in my neighbourhood, I want to switch to wireless dual band (5GHZ) and wireless ac. Do you have any suggestions for USB wireless adapters for CentOS 6.5 that work with dual band and ac? Also, if you have any suggestions on wireless routers for these bands I would like to hear about them. Thank you, Joe

RideMe 1.0 (Rails IDE for Windows) 1.0
Just wanted to let all those Windows devs out there know that RideMe 1.0 dropped over the weekend. http://www.projectrideme.com/ If you''ve never used RideMe before, here are some highlights: * 100% free, open source, and not built on top of anything else. You just need Ruby 1.8.2 and .NET 2.0 installed. * Mission in life is to be lightweight and very fast. This is not a general

quadratic form
On page 22 of the R-introduction guide it's written: the quadratic form x^{'} A^{-1} x which is used in multivariate computations, should be computed by something like x%*%solve(A,x), rather than computing the inverse of A. Why isn't it good to compute t(x) %*% solve(A) %*% x? Thanks a lot for help!

CPU usage while at syslinux boot prompt
Hi, Today I was contacted by a VMware colleague asking me why my test systems were using almost 100% CPU while waiting for a prompt. He was used to this behaviour for DOS guests :) Apparently the isolinux boot CD that is waiting for another test Linux installation is using about 1.8Ghz of the 2.5Ghz virtual CPU on a VMware ESX 3.0.2 host. Since I have 5 of these VM guests that are used for

WoW: Low FPS
When I start wow and get logged into my character, my FPS will be high, like 75, then after 30 seconds or less maybe, it will drop for 20 FPS. I've tried all the fixes I read about on the WoW WineHQ page and thats how I got up to 75 fps for that short while (before, it was like 35 fps, which dropped to 15 fps) Some info on my setup: Ubuntu 9.04 (64 bit) Kernel 2.6.28-14-generic Wine 1.1.26

FFXIV (further debugging; tweaking)
Hi all, So Final Fantasy XIV (online MMO) runs perfect (Gold) with most people to this point. Although I would want to contribute by debugging it even further than the current phase. First step I wanted to undertake is to see if there are known fixes for the Debug run (Wineskin) before a player enters the game (login screen). I get the following LastWineRun.log back after normally quiting after

Aggregate load/stores
I've definitely "run into this problem", and I would very much love to remove my kludges [that are incomplete, because I keep finding places where I need to modify the code-gen to "fix" the same problem - this is probably par for the course from a complete amateur compiler writer and someone that has only spent the last 14 months working (as a hobby) with LLVM]. So whilst

Meetme scalable to 300 people?
Hi everyone. I am looking at providing a conference for up to 300 people and was wondering if anyone has scaled meetme to 300 people. Here are some points: 1) I am using an IAX2 gateway hosted on a VOIP service provider. 2) The machine is hosted at the providers site so one has to assume that bandwidth is not going to be an issue. 3) Everything is coming in as ULAW so we won't need to
