There are also at least two examples of sloppy coding that lead to numeric

Get contour of a map
Hello everybody,
I search a function which returns the contour of map with levels like contourLines, but I would like this function return the border of the map too, because the function contourLines cannot consider the corner of the map and it is not adapted to fill polygon after that.
Thanks in advance

qcauchy accuracy (PR#7902)
Full_Name: Morten Welinder
Version: 2.1.0
OS: src only
Submission from: (NULL) (216.223.241.212)
Now that pcauchy has been fixed, it is becoming clear that qcauchy suffers from
the same problems.
qcauchy(pcauchy(1e100,0,1,FALSE,TRUE),0,1,FALSE,TRUE)
should yield 1e100 back, but I get 1.633178e+16. The code below does much
better. Notes:
1. p need not be finite. -Inf is ok in the log_p case and R_Q_P01_check
already checks things.
2. No need to disallow scale=0 and infinite location.
3. The code below u...

Can R solve this optimization problem?
Dear All,
I am trying to solve the following maximization problem with R:
find x(t) (continuous) that maximizes the
integral of x(t) with t from 0 to 1,
subject to the constraints
dx/dt = u,
|u| <= 1,
x(0) = x(1) = 0.
The analytical solution can be obtained easily, but I am trying to
understand whether R is able to solve numerically problems like this
one. I have tried to find an

as.Date(Inf) displays as 'NA' but is actually 'Inf'
Hi Gabriel,
The point is that it *visually* displays as NA, but is.na() still
responds as FALSE.
When I (and I am sure many people) see an NA, we then use is.na(). If we
see Inf displayed, we then use is.infinite(). With as.Date() this breaks
down.
I'm not arguing that as.Date(Inf) should be coerced to NA. I'm arguing
that as.Date(Inf) should be *visually* displayed as Inf (i.e. the

Pluralized Controller Names?
If I do:
script/generate controller Photo
I get a controller named photo_controller. OTOH, if I do:
script/generate scaffold Photo
I get a controller named photos_controller. (Note that the controller
name is pluralized).
I realize that I''m specifying the controller name explicitly in the
first case, but it seems
odd to me that the scaffold command generates a pluralized
