Suggestion to Stop Cross Posting Discussions
For ISO C++ we long ago created an 'all' list for topics that were organisational and not technically specific to an aspect of the Standard such as Library, or Core, or Extensions, etc.. For the most part I think that since the early 1990s when these lists started, the 'all' reflector/distribution-list has worked really well. I still get all the ISO C++ mailings, and the signal to noise ratio is pretty good in this regard. For topics such as GIT versus SVN hosting, or code of conduct, and such like (even social events!); th...

Thanks for the reply. And how do you have it then left it arranged? I have a windows system. Like I said I have a domain that is just parked and entered in the dns, but I don’t use it. pipe(): input to, and output from, a single process
hi. i'd like to instantiate sed(1), send it some input, and retrieve its output, all via pipes (rather than an intermediate file). my sense from pipe and looking at the sources (sys-unix.c) is that is not possible. is that true? are there any thoughts of providing such a facility? cheers, Greg

Problem with Eudora
I'm trying to get Dovecot (dovecot-0.99.10-6) to work with Eudora (6.0 mac/win) and am having a real problem when I try to enable SSL, either TLS or alternate-port SSL. Although my other mail clients, mail.app, imp, etc. work just fine, either version of Eudora craps out when trying to connect via TLS or SSL -- on the mac I get the error Could not get mailbox list. 20 [CLOSED]

Writing R packages in an easier way?
...e very specific and have something to do with several computers I use. So I have not the intention to upload this package to CRAN. From the point of the costs e. g. I had to learn writing help files in a TeX-like language. But I'm the typical Word user. My last TeX writings were done in the 1990s! If I'm changing only a letter in a source file (r-file or help file) I've to build a new package. Seeing the results in my eyes this is a very expansive way. It's easier to me to write those files in HTML and to change the HTML source code. I don't need help files in Rd format....

Replacing PBX during a call in progress
This was asked many years ago but I thought I would check to see if things have changed. Is it possible to take over a call in progress - using a replacement Asterisk server? In other words, if 2 user agents are connected through an Asterisk PBX, and I tracked the call ID, IP of each UA (and anything else needed), could I remove the PBX and put a new one in its place (at the same IP

I have the following html <p><b>text</b>value</p> I can use assert_select "p>b", "text" to check the text portion, and assert_select "p", "value" to check that the value appears in a <p>. I cannot work out how to check that the two are in the same <p>. I have used assert_select for much more complex tasks but my mind
