HugePages - can't start guest that requires them
Hello All,
I'm trying to enable hugepages, I've turned off THP (Transparent Huge
Pages), and enabled hugepages in memoryBacking, and set my 2MB
hugepages count via sysctl.
I'm getting "libvirtd[5788]: Failed to autostart VM 'atlas': internal
error: Unable to find any usable hugetlbfs mount for 16777216 KiB"
where atlas is one of my guests and 16777216 KiB is the

It is a bit less now: should be closer to 11GB with Full Debug Info.
You may want to try without debug info (or with -gline-tables-only) and it should get under 4GB.

Looking at the XML:
<memoryBacking>
<hugepages>
<page size='16777216' unit='KiB' nodeset='0'/>
This means you want the guest's memory to be allocated from 16GiB
hugepages. You probably wanted to put this there:
<page size='2' unit='MiB' ...

[llvm-toolchain v3.8.1] LTO: Linking clang hangs with ld.gold and LLVMgold.so plugin
How big is your project?
LTO eats RAM even faster than chrome. For example linking clang with LTO
could take 16GB of ram.
Have you tried using LTO on your project on that machine, or is it your
first time?

hardware sizing and configuration
Understanding that a samba 4.x ADDC should be run on a an os separate
than a samba 4. file server, I was thinking of virtualizing both. Is it
common to have a single physcial server with two VM's running samba?
If some is there a recommendation on how much hardware to start with and
how much virtual hardware to give each VM. I'm wondering about virtual
nics and if there may be a

RFC: EfficiencySanitizer working set tool
Please reference the prior RFC on EfficiencySanitizer. This is one of the
performance analysis tools we would like to build under the
EfficiencySanitizer umbrella.

Motivation

Knowing the working set size at periodic points during a given
application's execution helps to understand its cache behavior, how its
behavior changes over time, how its
