Question on creating Date variable
Hello all, Let say I have following (numeric) vector: > x [1] 11.00 11.25 11.35 12.01 11.14 13.00 13.25 13.35 14.01 13.14 14.50 14.75 14.85 15.51 14.64 Now, I want to create a 'Date' variable (i.e. I should be able to do all calculations pertaining to date/time and also time-series plotting etc.) like 2012-12-31 11:00:00 AM, 2012-12-31 11:25:00 AM, 2012-12-31 11:35:00 AM,

Partial correlation test
Dear all, I'm writing my manuscript to publish after analysis my final data with ANOVA, ANCOVA, MANCOVA. In a section of my result, I did correlation of my data (2 categirical factors with 2 levels: Quantity & Quality; 2 dependent var: Irid.area & Casa.PC1, and 1 co-var: SL). But as some traits (here Irid.area) are significantly influenced by the covariate (standard length, SL), I

LDFLAGS defined in R_MAKEVARS_USER file is ignored for R CMD SHLIB on Windows
Example input and output to reproduce this can be found at https://gist.github.com/jimhester/b7f05f50794c88e44b17. I tested this attempting to compile the [digest]( http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/digest/index.html) package, `run.sh` and `run.bat` were both run in the package source directory on Ubuntu 14.01 and Windows 7 respectively. In particular while the `CFLAGS` values were properly

reading header in txt file and making histogram
Dear all I am a BEGINNER and have R on my Mac. I saved my excel file as .txt file, I have just one column with first row as the column name. My file when read by R looks like this. After reading the table I try to make a histogram by hist(dbh), it says object dbh not found. What am I doing wrong? thanks dbh 1 11.53 2 16.05 3 7.36 4 16.05 5 8.66 6 12.74 7 22.93 8 7.55 9

Request to speed up save()
Hi, I am dealing with very large datasets and it takes a long time to save a workspace image. The options to save compressed data are: "gzip", "bzip2" or "xz", the default being gzip. I wonder if it's possible to include the pbzip2 (http://compression.ca/pbzip2/) algorithm as an option when saving. "PBZIP2 is a parallel implementation of the bzip2

SIP Reason
Hello, I'm sniffing traffic between Asterisk and a Softswitch. I see that, in "Decline" SIP packages, there is a header called "Reason" and I would like to access to the content of this header from Asterisk. How I can access to Reason header content? I would like to access here using ASterisk 1.4 and 1.2, but if it's only with Asterisk 1.4 will not be a big problem.

POP3 Proxy : user format not accepted
Hello, I want to use Dovecot as a POP3 proxy (http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/ImapProxy). All is working fine on my sample platform, except that I have plenty (several thousands) of users that login using local_part#domain, instead of local_part at domain, which is an old setting on my POP3 server. And in that case, Dovecot returns 'Authentication failed'. Here is my proxy table :

stereo couple
Dear All: I studied the stereo couple documents and now confused, I wonder why it can be done like that, and what is the principle behind that. I think i am confused perhaps because i have no background knowledge, can you help me out? Also, when doing the T/F transform,we used MDCT, so it means no imaginary part. And i am much puzzled about the angle in the stereo couple,what does it mean?

Request to speed up save()
In addition to the major points that others made: if you care about speed, don't use compression. With today's fast disks it's an order of magnitude slower to use compression: > d=lapply(1:10, function(x) as.integer(rnorm(1e7))) > system.time(saveRDS(d, file="test.rds.gz")) user system elapsed 17.210 0.148 17.397 > system.time(saveRDS(d,

Latest SAMBA binaries for SunOS 4.1.3
Hello all On my SunOS 4.1.3_U1 / SPARCstation 5 (ie. sun4m architecture) server I am running SAMBA 1.9.15p8, and I am having all sorts of permission problems. For example, there are two AutoCAD drawings with identical Unix ownership and permissions (ie. 666), sitting in the exact same directory. The directory has 777 permissions. >From the NT client, one of the drawings will open

Question on class 1, 2 output for RandomForest
The `1' and `2' columns are the error rates within those classes. E.g., the last row of the `1' column should correspond to the class.error for "-", and the last row of the `2' column to the class.error for "+". (I would have thought that that should be fairly obvious, but I guess not. It mimics what Breiman and Cutler's Fortran code does.) I suspect
