logrotate script error
Hey guys,
I'm trying to rotate a logstash log that can grow pretty large. 3.4GB last
I saw!
And that's because the logrotate script I came up with didn't work.
The error I get on a syntax check is this:
#logrotate -f logstash

And this is the logstash rotate sc...

Poor Performance WhenNumber of Files > 1M
Hi all,
I plan on having about 100M files totaling about 8.5TiBytes. To see
how ext3 would perform with large numbers of files I've written a test
program which creates a configurable number of files into a configurable
number of directories, reads from those files, lists them and then
deletes them. Even up to 1M files ext...

Olympics: 200m Men Final
Hello,
Have you seen the log-linear prediction of the 100m winning time in R
mailed to the list yesterday by David Smith, subject Revolutions Blog:
July roundup?
"A log-linear regression in R predicted the gold-winning Olympic 100m

[nbdkit PATCH] tests: Accommodate qemu-img 4.1 output change
Where qemu-img 4.0 used to say 'virtual size: 100M', the 4.1 release
now says 'virtual size: 100 MiB'. Similarly, '5.0G' turned into '5
GiB'. Update expected test output to tolerate either version of qemu.

[PATCH] fish: Increase default size of prepared disks (-N) to 1G.
The guestfish prepared disks (-N option) all defaulted to 100M. This
has always been too small for btrfs (so for example ‘-N fs:btrfs’ has
failed for a long time), and can be too small for LVs with new LVM2 /
kernel >= 4.16.
This changes the default from 100M to 1G. The beginning of the 1.39
branch seems like a good time to make this change.

I can (sort of) see it if we support composition; but again, if
composition is done right, you still have just a single use of each
plugin per nbdkit process. Let's say I want to access [0-100M) and
[200M-300M) of a given file via composition. Here's a possible way to
write it:
nbdkit --filter=compose compose='--filter=offset offset=0 range=100M
file file=FILE' --filter=offset offset=200M range=100M file file=FILE
Is there a way to rewrite it so I don't have to nest quo...
