Xapian 1.2.25 released; Xapian 1.2 series closed
It's time we retired the Xapian 1.2 release series, but there were a
few useful changes on the branch since the last release so I've
rolled a final 1.2.25 release to push out those plus a few more
fixes:
https://xapian.org/download
And with that, the 1.2 series is officially closed. If you've not
already migrated to 1.4 or at least made plans to do so, it's time
you did.

SSH security hole found
>From http://lwn.net/#security
A vulnerability present in the SSH software package can allow an
attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the SSH server. To protect
against this, immediately upgrade to ssh 1.2.25. Red Hat ssh-1.2.25 RPMs
are available, as is the Debian ssh-1.1.25 package for hamm (Debian
2.0-to-be).
There are SSH 1.2.25 RPMs here:

RPM-installed packages trying to install every run, causing service to fail
Hi guys,
I''m doing some hackish stuff with manually installing RPMs. Basically
I''m pulling them down to /tmp and installing them using provider => rpm,
then making the service check that the package is installed before it''ll
start. Here are the relevant sections of the pp file:
class tomcat inherits httpd {
$tomcat_connectors_pkg = $architecture ? {

Wait for dialtone feature on FXO device
Anyone interested in this feature? I have a version 0.1 patch, which
is currently against 1.2.25-bristuffed, but which should port
trivially to almost any version. I am away until Tuesday 8th April,
but if there is enough interest, I will open a "new-feature" ticket
and upload the patch to the bugtracker so that more capable
programmers can laugh at it ;-)
It should work reasonably on

Asterisk 1.2.26 badly broken?
After upgrading from 1.2.25 to 1.2.26 i noticed that IAX -> IAX calls
always result in Asterisk just exiting without any message.
Asterisk also seems to die when using a TDM400 with 2 FXO modules, placing
2 outgoing calls on both lines as Zap/g2 and then trying to make a 3rd
call.
Went back to 1.2.25 for the moment

Incoming calls on zaptel not answered.
After an upgrade from asterisk 1.2.13 to 1.2.25 including upgrading libpri,
zaptel, the incoming calls to a TDM400P REV I, with 3 FXO modules stop
working.
The board is working, I tested in another server with the 1.2.13 asterisk
version.
When a call is incoming, I do a ztmonitor to check the rx and tx values, but
nothing appears on screen.
Also changed the pci slot where the board is.

Dialplan Priorities and Sort Order...
Greetings!
I'm hoping someone can help me with what should be the most basic of problems. Essentially, I want to have certain calls on an Asterisk 1.2.25 (Yes I know its old, upgrade, etc... its on my roadmap) install go out a couple of analog lines and all other calls go out a PRI. The analog lines are setup in Zaptel group 1 and the PRI channels are in Zaptel group 0. Here is my relevant

Please include the above line in the ignore.d/server/postfix file. That

Feature disappeared?
Hi,
working on tightening our network (somewhat) today, I found that OpenSSH
doesn't seem to have the "AllowSHosts" directive (in sshd_config) that
Commercial SSH (at least 1.2.25 & up) has.
Now I wonder whether that hasn't been implemented yet, or has been dropped
for a certain reason.
I find this very useful for what I want to achieve - inside the company
network,

data loss with ssh -n
Hi,
Using OpenSSH 2.9p2 (2.5.2 was also bad), I've noticed data loss on
Linux when:
1) ssh -n flag is used, and
2) ssh jobs are run from cron (effectively causing the same as above).
What is done, is a command basically like:
ssh [-n] -c blowfish -p 722 -i rsakey -l pwget passwdserver passwd > passwd.tmp 2> /tmp/log
ie, retrieve dynamically created passwd-file from passwdserver

rollback procedure requirements before asterisk upgrade
Dear all,
I've a live system that needs to be upgraded but, before I proceed to the
upgrade I want to assure the rollback process.
That's why I'm requesting your feedback, in fact this asterisk in live
system isn't going so bad but.... the upgrade is essential
NOTICE that the upgrade will keep the same version 1.2 not from 1.2 to 1.4
Requirements:
-backup /usr/sbin/asterisk
