Initial values of the parameters of a garch-Model
Dear all,
I'm using R 2.8.1 under Windows Vista on a dual core 2,4 GhZ with 4 GB
of RAM.
I'm trying to reproduce a result out of "Analysis of Financial Time
Series" by Ruey Tsay.
In R I'm using the fGarch library.
After fitting a ar(3)-garch(1,1)-model

Accumulating CPU load from Xorg process with DRI3
I observed this bug for quite some time, but so far I workarounded it
with just setting DRI2 (default) in xorg.conf.d/20-nouveau.conf
Now with two GPU i iwsh to use DRI3, so right now it set up like this:
cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-nouveau.conf

In a greenhouse experiment we tested performance of 4 different species (B,H,P,R) under 3 different water levels in 10 replications. As response variable e.g. the number of emerging sprouts were measured on three dates. Interpreting R -results for Bivariate Normal
HI Guys,
I know that this forum is not for homework but I am trying to interpret R

Accumulating CPU load from Xorg process with DRI3
I'm aware of this issue, and am experiencing it myself.
The issue is that drmmode_event_handler takes up more and more CPU
time. It seems like some events are being "left behind". I haven't had
time to debug it further yet though.
I also have DRI3 enabled, but only very rarely do I make use of my
secondary GPUs, and I'm pretty sure I've seen the problem happen

Problem with optim()
I am having a problem with optim() using the "L-BFGS-B" method. When I
set the lower limit for the third parameter equal to zero I get an
error message:

Sweave-LaTEX question
Hi:
I am working on a publication and I have heard about LaTEX but I haven't actually tried to learn about it until today. I've found a few examples but I can't actually make them work properly. I have a couple of questions:
Does LATEX have to be installed on your computer? How does the xtable package and Sweave work together? How can I make the code below create a table as pdf file?
