samba - May 2024 - Printer desappeared... configuration and backup?

From my experience when driver associates or re-associates with printer, printer
?shared name? changes.

From a windows client perspective the printer disappears and needs reconnecting.

After re-associating check the shared name.

OK. I can confirm that. Right.


But 'why' (dis)associate?!

In 'NT' samba era, there was a TDB that get corrupted. Now in
'AD' era i've
not found a database or config file that contain printers config,
particulary printer and driver association, and printer names.

These info are written directly in LDAP? And if yes, because get corrupted?
