If you want it to be a second DC, leave the 'server role' line that the join creates. If you want a domain member, then do not provision it. Rowland penny <rpenny at samba.org> schrieb:> Can I suggest you have a look here: > https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Main_PageWell, I got it! I found this HowTo: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_Samba_as_an_AD_Domain_Member and now it works! I'm puzzled why on other Servers the previous configuration works, but if I have now this Server, too, with a working Samba I'm happy and can look for easter eggs... :D Just another question: can someone explain me why the Windows-PCs did not execute the Logon-Scripts? On the DC I have this: domain logons = yes logon script = logon.cmd [netlogon] path = /var/lib/samba/sysvol/cch.intra/scripts read only = No [sysvol] path = /var/lib/samba/sysvol read only = No But the logon.cmd will not executed... I chose them both during the installation phase. How affected ... samba-tool domain provision --server-role=dc --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ --use-rfc2307 --use-xattrs=yes --use-ntvfs 2016-03-26 15:18 GMT+02:00 Rowland penny <rpenny at samba.org>:> On 26/03/16 13:06, Luca Bertoncello wrote: > >> Rowland penny <rpenny at samba.org> schrieb: >> >> Hmm, not what I thought, but if that is the case, two more questions: >>> >>> Why are you using the depreciated ntvfs ? >>> >> So I found in an HowTo (I don't have the address anymore...) >> > > Please don't use 'ntvfs', use the '--use-rfc2307' option instead. > > >> If you joined as a DC, why do you have this in smb.conf: server role >>> MEMBER SERVER >>> >> What have I to use? >> > > This depends on what you what the machine to do.
