Hi,
Thank you for reading my post.
I have a MySQL server running on a Unix machine (machine A).
I want the directory which contains the databases ("/var/lib/mysql" on
my
distrib.) to be shared on my LAN.
I already have a Samba server running on another Unix machine (machine B).
To declare "/var/lib/mysql" as a share for my LAN, I installed a Samba
server
on machine A and added a section in its "/etc/samba/smb.conf" for the
share.
What I did works: meaning I can access the share from elsewhere on the LAN.
I am just wondering if this is the right way to do things and if this is
correct to
install a (second) Samba server on the machine running the MySQL server.
Cheers,
