samba - Jul 2008 - gpl v2&v3 and plugins/backends

Hi all,

I'm having some doubts with the following, so that's why i ask it to you
all.

currently we are maintaining the pdbsql project for samba (sql password
backend) witch is license under gplv2.

now that samba 3.2.x is license under gplv3, the question arose,
can we keep the pdbsql backend under gplv2 ??

and actually the question goes for all plugins and backends.

No.

The licenses for compatible plugins must be at least "GPLv2 or later"
to be compatible with GPLv3 (otherwise the extra stuff in GPLv3
becomes extra restrictions in the eyes of v2) and they are GPLv3
when distributed with Samba.
