samba - Feb 2007 - Fwd: smbldap-populate - failed to add entry: modifications

Hello,
did you write the ldap Admin in your smb.conf?
did you made a smbpasswd -w yourladpadminpasswort?
smbpasswd -a root? 
This has  to be done before populate

hai. i have problem similiar that u have. when i use smbldap populate, it
required auth...error code 471

provide pass for root
 and it says user root doesnt exist

please help me
