samba - Feb 2006 - Domain controller: LDAP server signing requirements +pam

We have got Samba 3.0.21b working fine when browsing from 2003AD clients works
fine.

Weve comfigured pam and if we change the setting on the 2003 domain for 

"Domain controller: LDAP server signing requirements" to none it works
fine if its at requires signing pam doesnt work is there anyway round this? as
setting this to none will not be an option.
