Hi, I have a problem with XP as client and the file thumbs.db. It will not be created on a samba share (3.0.13-1.1-SUSE). I have several pictures on that drive. When I copy a directory with pictures to a local drive, the thumbs.db will be created. So I copied the directory back to the server and XP uses the thumbs.db because the preview of the pictures is very fast. I have deleted the file thumbs.db and the preview is slow again and no file will be created. Any ideas? P.S.: Here is my SMB.CONF: # Global parameters [global] ldap ssl = no socket options = SO_KEEPALIVE TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY map to guest = nobody domain master = yes interfaces = 127.0.0.1, eth1 time server = Yes realm = SUN.SOLARSYS.NET # veto files = /*.eml/*.nws/riched20.dll/*.{*}/ wins support = true server string = File Server default = Server local master = yes workgroup = SOLARSYS.NET os level = 65 add user script = /usr/sbin/useradd -c Machine -d /dev/null -s /bin/false %m$ bind interfaces only = Yes domain logons = Yes show add printer wizard = yes name resolve order = wins host bcast preferred master = Yes #[printers] # comment = All Printers # path = /var/tmp # create mask = 0600 # printable = Yes # browseable = No [print$] create mask = 0664 directory mask = 0775 comment = Printer Drivers writeable = yes write list = root,@ntadmin path = /var/lib/samba/drivers force group = ntadmin [Server] writeable = yes path = /usr/server force directory mode = 0770 force create mode = 0770 create mask = 0770 directory mask = 0770 valid users = root,@users,@Servervolume [Mirror] path = /mirror valid users = bernd [Netzwerkdrucker02] printer = NPRT02 printable = yes
