hello,
i see a strange behavior on my samba 3.0.11 on solaris 8
when i install printer-drivers fir win-clients.
1. i ask the win-server for the drivers and get a huge list
of depend files:
# /usr/local/samba/bin/rpcclient -c 'getdriver "SLA D91 Xerox
4500" 3'
- -U xxx xxx
[Windows NT x86]
Printer Driver Info 3:
Version: [3]
Driver Name: [Xerox Phaser 4500DT PS]
Architecture: [Windows NT x86]
Driver Path: [\\xxx\print$\W32X86\3\PSCRIPT5.DLL]
Datafile: [\\xxx\print$\W32X86\3\XR4500DT.PPD]
Configfile: [\\xxx\print$\W32X86\3\PS5UI.DLL]
Helpfile: [\\xxx\print$\W32X86\3\PSCRIPT.HLP]
Dependentfiles: [\\xxx\print$\W32X86\3\XR4500DT.OPT]
.... ->21 files
Dependentfiles: [\\xxx\print$\W32X86\3\xrxupdt.dll]
Monitorname: []
Defaultdatatype: []
2. i install the drivers on my samba-server and set the
driver for the printer.
first result: no error, but just 5 files in the 3-directory.
asking the samba-server for the drivers results in only one
depend file:
# /usr/local/samba/bin/rpcclient -c 'getdriver "SLA D91 Xerox 4500DT
PS"
3' -U xxx xxx
[Windows NT x86]

it seems, that the printer works, but i think, that all these
depend files bring some additional possiblities, that are not
given with only one of them installed.
did not find something similar on the net.
has someone on the list an explanation for that?
thanks
andreas
