samba - Jun 2005 - w2000 xp w2003 active directory is wins needed ?

Hello,

If there is a local network with windows 2000 active directory and only
windows 2000 and newer do I need any wins support enabled on a few samba
servers ??

I read something that wins not needed on 2000 because name resolution
works with active directory dynamic dns....
