Hello. I have a simple samba share of one WinXP, one Win98SE, & FC3. All interfaces are 10/100 nics. Going from the FC3 samba box to either Windows box or Windows to Windowws I get a sustained transfer rate of approx 30M. Going from either Windows box to the Samba client I get max 2MB (I use iptraf to monitor speeds) & normally about half that. I have done a Google search, but all the answers seem to involve PDC's which I am not (I think) running. Enclosed is my smb.conf, TIA. # Samba config file created using SWAT # from 0.0.0.0 (0.0.0.0) # Date: 2005/01/22 09:00:30 # Global parameters [global] workgroup = CONCERT_ATL interfaces = 192.168.1.1/24, 192.168.2.1/24 security = SHARE log level = 3 log file = /var/log/samba/matrix1.log preferred master = Yes domain master = Yes dns proxy = No wins support = Yes ldap ssl = no remote announce = 192.168.1.148 192.168.1.149 read only = No guest ok = Yes [homes] path = /mnt/hdc1/home/public -- lovswr1 <lovswr1@earthlink.net>
