[Samba] long connection time when mapping shares - ADS member
Hi, We have got a samba 3.0.4 server as an ADS member server running solaris 8 on a sun sparc. When users try to map a samba share it takes 5-12 seconds until the share is mapped. And if a user tries to enter a mapped share after some time, that user is again forced to wait until he is allowed to connect to that share. I'd like to know if this is a normal behaviour and if there is a way to improve connection speed. Apparently it's not the fault of the Domain Controllers as connections to servers that are ADS members but not samba servers is much faster. Here is a part of the smb.conf: Global parameters [global] unix charset = ISO-8859-15 display charset = ISO-8859-15 workgroup = DOMAIN realm = DOMAIN-NAME.DE server string = T-Samba-Server 1 %h Samba %v interfaces = 192.168.215.8/255.255.255.0, 192.168.215.108/255.255.255.0, 127.0.0.1 security = ads password server = adsrv1.domain-name.de, adsrv2.domain-name.de, * log level = 1 log file = /usr/local/samba/var/log.%m max log size = 50 socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192 SO_KEEPALIVE domain master = no local master = no os level = 0 preferred master = No ldap ssl = no idmap uid = 10000-20000 idmap gid = 10000-20000 template homedir = /homes/%D+%U template shell = /bin/sh winbind separator = + hosts allow = 192.168.216., 192.168.215., 192.168.208., 192.168.200., 141.200.200., 141.200.196., 141.200.176., 141.200.177., 10.1 97.192., 141.200.189., 10.197.224., 10.197.225. hosts deny = 0.0.0.0/0 hide dot files = No
