samba - Mar 2004 - 2.2.7 and getting old SID

I am trying to migrate from a Samba 2.2.7 PDC to Samba 3, and I need the
old domain SID. 2.2.7 doe not have the net tools, so net getlocalsid
will not work, the 2.2.7 version of smbpasswd does not have the -X
option (which www.richardsharpe.com talked about) and tdbdump dumps the
SID in HEX, but I don't think I can use that (and I have been
unsuccessful in converting to ASCII)...

Is there any way to get the SID in a usable format?

I've done this for a samba 2.2.6 server. I used the code
from samba 2.2.8 and compiled it with samba 2.2.6.
