samba - Mar 2004 - Problem logon in Windows XP

Hi,

I'm have Samba-2.2.8a and I use the /etc/shadow how password file, with 
Crypt.
The logon in Windows 9x is ok, but I cannot logon in Windows XP because 
I no have the smbpasswd file and in /etc/shadow is not MD5.
How I can logon in Windows XP ? Convert /etc/shadow to Ldap database ?
Convert crypt password to MD5 ? How ?
Which my alternatives ?
