samba - Feb 2004 - corrupted printing.tbd read bad magic error

I have a corrupted `printing.tbd read bad magic error',  this can be fixed
by deleting and restarting samba.  Its only a printing cache,  any way I can
fix this without restarting samab?  can I just cat /dev/null to it? to clear
the contents?
