Hi, I upgraded to Linux kernel 2.6 and am using samba 3.0.0 on redhat fedora core 1. Previously I was able to access my share on my linux box from my windows xp box by typing on the windows xp box \\awilliam\adam. now when I do that, it gives the error "\\awilliam\adam is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if have access permissions. The specified network name is no longer available". I was able to access my share while using kernel 2.4, but now I can't since I've upgraded to 2.6. My /var/log/samba/adamxp.log (my windows xp box) contains: [root@awilliam samba]# cat adamxp.log [2004/01/09 09:04:22, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection_snum(698) adamxp (10.8.5.254) connect to service adam initially as user adam (uid=500, gid=500) (pid 20729) [2004/01/09 09:05:37, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection_snum(698) adamxp (10.8.5.254) connect to service adam initially as user adam (uid=500, gid=500) (pid 20769) [2004/01/09 09:06:35, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(880) adamxp (10.8.5.254) closed connection to service adam [root@awilliam samba]#
