This algorithm can cause name collisions only if files in a directory share the same first five alphanumeric characters. The probability of such a clash is 1/1300. In my case probability is 50% :-)) Second problem: Short names contains a percent sign "%", which cause problems while processing file names in batch files on Windows client. System is Alpha Server 8200 running Tru64 UNIX 4.0d (AKA OSF/1, Digital UNIX). Mangling parameters from smb.conf: mangle case = no mangled names = yes case sensitive = no default case = lower preserve case = yes short preserve case = yes All these parameters are in [global] section only. Changed parameters in smb.conf for 2.0.7.: oplocks = no client code page = 852 local master = yes all other parameters are the same as for 1.9.17p4 Any solution or idea ?
