samba - Aug 2003 - cvs problem 3.0 pre-release

Hi samba people,

1. Is there an rpm available for the 3.0 pre-release for redhat linux 9 ?

2. I try to compile the source.
I downloaded the cvs, ran "./autogen.sh" and "./configure".

Configure stops with the message:

  configure error: cannot compute sizeof (long) , 77
  See config.log for details

(on linux 9, kernel 2.4.20-8,  g.c.c 3.2.2)

There are quite a number of error messages in the 'config.log' but
nothing
pointing to this  error.
Any ideas ?

Beta1 is available on samba.org FTP site. Maybe there will be a RC2 binary
when it is released in a day or so.

Suggest you sit tight for 24-48 hours as RC2 will soon be out and has
significant bug fixes.
