Hello, I am using cups-1.1.19final-1.deb and samba-2.2.3a. When I was working with cups-1.1.15 before, cupsaddsmb worked fine, but now with cups-1.1.19 it gives me: Running command: smbclient //localhost/print\$ -N -U'root%secret?' -c 'mkdir WIN40;put /var/spool/cups/tmp/3eef829eea1b8 WIN40/ps948esb.PPD;put /usr/share/cups/drivers/ADFONTS.MFM WIN40/ADFONTS.MFM;put /usr/share/cups/drivers/ADOBEPS4.DRV WIN40/ADOBEPS4.DRV;put /usr/share/cups/drivers/ADOBEPS4.HLP WIN40/ADOBEPS4.HLP;put /usr/share/cups/drivers/DEFPRTR2.PPD WIN40/DEFPRTR2.PPD;put /usr/share/cups/drivers/ICONLIB.DLL WIN40/ICONLIB.DLL;put /usr/share/cups/drivers/PSMON.DLL WIN40/PSMON.DLL;' added interface ip=157.182.194.119 bcast=157.182.194.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 Domain=[CSEENTDOMAIN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.2.3a-12.3 for Debian] NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_COLLISION making remote directory \WIN40 putting file /var/spool/cups/tmp/3eef829eea1b8 as \WIN40/ps948esb.PPD (8308.6 kb/s) (average 8308.8 kb/s) putting file /usr/share/cups/drivers/ADFONTS.MFM as \WIN40/ADFONTS.MFM (18515.1 kb/s) (average 15963.6 kb/s) putting file /usr/share/cups/drivers/ADOBEPS4.DRV as \WIN40/ADOBEPS4.DRV (18806.2 kb/s) (average 17514.2 kb/s) putting file /usr/share/cups/drivers/ADOBEPS4.HLP as \WIN40/ADOBEPS4.HLP (14705.4 kb/s) (average 17227.6 kb/s) putting file /usr/share/cups/drivers/DEFPRTR2.PPD as \WIN40/DEFPRTR2.PPD (6588.1 kb/s) (average 16810.4 kb/s) putting file /usr/share/cups/drivers/ICONLIB.DLL as \WIN40/ICONLIB.DLL (10909.1 kb/s) (average 16587.7 kb/s) /usr/share/cups/drivers/PSMON.DLL does not exist Running command: rpcclient localhost -N -U'root%secret?' -c 'adddriver "Windows 4.0" "ps948esb:ADOBEPS4.DRV:ps948esb.PPD:NULL:ADOBEPS4.HLP:PSMON.DLL:RAW:ADOBEPS4.DRV,ps948esb.PPD,ADOBEPS4.HLP,PSMON.DLL,ADFONTS.MFM,DEFPRTR2.PPD,ICONLIB.DLL"' session setup ok Domain=[CSEENTDOMAIN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.2.3a-12.3 for Debian] cmd = adddriver "Windows 4.0" "ps948esb:ADOBEPS4.DRV:ps948esb.PPD:NULL:ADOBEPS4.HLP:PSMON.DLL:RAW:ADOBEPS4.DRV,ps948esb.PPD,ADOBEPS4.HLP,PSMON.DLL,ADFONTS.MFM,DEFPRTR2.PPD,ICONLIB.DLL" adddriver "Windows 4.0" "ps948esb:ADOBEPS4.DRV:ps948esb.PPD:NULL:ADOBEPS4.HLP:PSMON.DLL:RAW:ADOBEPS4.DRV,ps948esb.PPD,ADOBEPS4.HLP,PSMON.DLL,ADFONTS.MFM,DEFPRTR2.PPD,ICONLIB.DLL" result was NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_DEVICE Running command: rpcclient localhost -N -U'root%secret?' -c 'setdriver ps948esb ps948esb' session setup ok Domain=[CSEENTDOMAIN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.2.3a-12.3 for Debian] cmd = setdriver ps948esb ps948esb setdriver ps948esb ps948esb result was NT code 0xc0000709 I checked the permissions on /var/spool/samba and other related directories, but couldn't resolve the error for 2 days now. Shanti Katta katta at csee.wvu.edu> Thu Jun 19 18:38:09 GMT 2003 > > > After adding PSMON.DLL,*Where* did you add it? Sorry, your problem description is very scarse and non-scientific. Please give the chapters 6.7., 6.8., 7.10., 7.11. and 8.5. of the PDF- or HTML-document on http://www.linuxprinting.org/kpfeifle/SambaPrintHOWTO/ a try. It could hardly be more verbose. Also, you have been adviced to upgrade to a recent Samba version. I'd take that serious -- the printing and printer driver up- and download code has improved a lot since the days of 2.2.3a.

How do I remove samba server from a domain, > after I have added it using smbpasswd -j <domain>??Looking at "-U'root%secret?'" and the "NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER" answer may I ask if you've added root to the PDC? That is, if PDC is samba did you "smbpasswd -a root"? It didn't work for me without that...
