samba - Jun 2003 - How can I kill a smbfs mount

How can I kill a mounted windows share that has been removed.   I
get this problem a lot since I am always rebooting the windows machines
and I can't unmount the smbfs.  Any suggestions?

I have just used kill -15 pid of the smbmount process.
You might need -9.
